Okay so my boyfriend and i are together. He is 24, and I am 16. My parents are trying their hardest to keep me from him, but I'm at the age of consent. When I asked them why they kept me from him they said until it is legal I can't be with him. So correct me if I am wrong, but I am under the impression that since I am 16 it is okay to be in a relationship with him. So anyways like I said what do you guys have to say about this?

I don't know the laws or what state you live in but the age should be 18, not 16.
I would be very careful, because if he is 24, you could seriously ruin his life. |

Depends on what state you live in as to whether or not you are of age. If your parents say you are not of age you need to listen to them. This young man could go to jail if you are too young. I also have to wonder what he's doing with a 16 year old at his age. |

Three questions:
1. What state are you in? That will determine the age of consent.
2. Why do you want to be with someone that is 50% older than you? That's creepy. Don't say because he makes you feel like a woman. He's doing you probably cuz you're hot.
3. Why would he want to be to be with someone that was 12 when he was 20? He sounds like a child molester.
Finally, you're headed for a fall. When you get pregnant, he will drop you. He is not mature. Evidence? He's doing someone that is 2/3rd's his age. Drop him. Your parents will be in your life for a long time. He won't. Find someone your age. |

I say - that until you are on your own, supporting yourself you should listen to your parents.
24 years old men who are interested in CHILD are perverts for one thing, and two your parents have expressed their concern and you should abide by that. |

Been there (long time ago) and done that. Your parents really just want what's best for you. They know what you don't know yet, that people change, and what you feel now may not be what you feel later in life. They just don't want you to make irreversible hardships on yourself, or mistakes that will alter your life forever. I think you should stick with someone a little closer to your age. You'll have more in common. This guy is at the age most people start considering starting families and things like that. Some day you'll understand this all a lot better when YOU have children. I know I did. |

I don't know are you? IT depends on your state. I know is some states your parents can call and he gets arrested and sent to jail.
Where did you get this "impression"? And a thumbs up to your parents. It's good to see parents still trying to do a good job raising their kids. |

I think that's statutory rape. In my state, you both have to be under 18 for that to be okay. I think you need to check your state law, and you need to seriously rethink dating this guy. If he's that much older than you and he's dating teenagers, do you think he's even going to want to think about you when you start getting older? No. He's still going to be after little sixteen year old girls. Your time with him is limited because he's a pedophile. |

Well it seems like he likes you and you like him. but i would be careful older guys have the upper hand and they know it. but it is illegal. so im not sure. its good to listen to your parents. but they are not always right.
