i agree to the ban because i think by being a smoker you are killing other people and not knowing it because of second hand smoke people dont realize how much it is damanging other people and how it affects them smoking is nasty but people still smoke after the things that can happen i think smoking is a slow suicide becuase its like they are giving themselves lung canser , heart disease , asmag and so much more . i dont understand it i think its wrong for that to be on the market i just hate the smell of the smoke its just terrible how people are hurting themselves ...... so i think smoking should be baned from the public and in privite

I can't wait for the ban to start in the UK. I think it should be banned completely from any public place. At the moment its really difficult for us to go out, my son has asthma and a couple of years ago in a restaurant I asked the couple at the next table not to smoke while he was there - but they did anyway and we ended up having to call an ambulance because he had such a severe attack, he was in hospital for 3 days. The couple told me that they 'thought I was being funny and didn't realise I was serious when I told them they were making my son ill'

listen i am a smoker myself.............but i know that breathing is natural and "smoking" is not so i guess i would have to agree with the ban. kinda a hard call in bars though- seems like smoking and drinking go together hand in hand.

i'm ambivalant about this..for me i dont smoke but if i did i would hate to be restricted to smoke becasue this is my pleasure..so i still dont have a yes or no answers except in closed places im in favor of the ban,ie; bars

I think that the decision should be left up to the property owners, not the government. I'm a lifelong non-smoker but I believe in property rights.

Yes, and I still smoke, very happilly. Been living under that law for a while already and it works for me too, I tend to smoke less.

I think that it is a shame that it had to be banned by legislation, but all of my life I have had to leave wedding reception`s parties and other function`s early because of people smoking, the times I have had a meal ruined in a restaurant or cafe by people smoking, the times I have gone home after a night out smelling of someone Else's habit, when I was younger many people would smoke in cinemas, train`s, buses, coaches and at work with no thought of how it effected non smoker`s.
I feel that if smoker`s had even a little consideration for non smoker`s then it would not have needed to be made illegal, all I have ever heard from smoker`s is that it is their right to smoke when and where they want to, in other word`s ignore my discomfort and health.
I say it`s a shame because most smoker`s now seem to be more aware of how it effects other`s and are more likely to be more understanding. what a pity this didn't happen sooner.

It's a great idea, because a non smoker like me is allergic to this kind of smoke. And I am not down for smokers, because when they smoke they are slowly killing others who don't. Yes, you guessed it second hand smoke kills. I did hear at one time, that California was going to banned smoking in most or all public areas.

Yes ban it because it seems that whenever you are near a smoker their smoke always seems to drift towards you. Have just been bowling and the people sitting watching were smoking and it was drifting all over us. Don't see why we should have to put up with it.

I myself am a smoker and I would like it to be banned in public places.. odd isn't it that I agree with this and am a smoker, I also have children and do not smoke in my car or in the house but in my back yard, if I could quit I would if I could afford the pills they have come out with I would buy but 100 a bottle and Insurance does not cover it than it is hard..but yes on the ban..should only be in a private place away from people
