What do you think causes crime?
|
On a large scale I think it is:
1) Lack of Education.
2) Largely uneven division of wealth between the rich and poor. Additional Details 3) Glorizing bad people.

1- It all starts in the family, the main core of society. Lack of parenting, lack of attention. not all uneducated people are criminals. |

Well its not glorizing people thats for sure.
Basically its people who dont give a stuff about anyone else, and think they can get away with crap. AT the source the biggest factor would be the love of money, profits and an antisocial mindset coupled with psychotic tendencies. |

What causes crime?
Many, many, many issues.
Stupidity (unrelated to Education), laziness, lack of ethical standards or morals, and opportunity.
To start...this, if I answered fully, would be a 100,000 word essay |

excuses, excuses, always excuses. you're looking for a quick answer and know what? there isn't any! crime is and has and always will be anything illegal. you're forgetting white-collar crime, right? a look for a quick buck, a way to get $$$ like real easy and greed does it all the time. in fact, some of the biggest crimes activated are done by those who are quite wealthy and most educated so there goes your theory out the window. anything that's against the law is criminal. get it? got it? good! |

Lack of Education is one thing, but poor rearing may be another. Kids that grow up in degenerate homes have a rough time making it in the world without getting into trouble. Either that or they become alcoholics. Not all, mind you, some are able to rise above that. |

crime begets crime. the institutionalization encourages it, and is even thought of as a "college" of sorts. managing crime and assessing it can be seen as a what came first, the chicken or the egg. crime will always exists - whether it be because of lack of education, social divides or even the adrenaline rush. Many people are truly sick in the head, and get off on it... others do it as seeing no other means.... complicated question with such little time to ponder... hundreds of text books have been written on any one single aspect of each point you bring up. |

In all honesty it would be lack/bad parenting, lack of money, and drug/alcohol use.
Eliminate those and you would eliminate 90% of crime. |

um it maybe those things u mention but keep in mind alot of notorious criminals were highly highly educated and intelligent people. Just becasue someone doesnt have a high education doesnt necessarily mean they will commit crimes. I think there is many answers to this question like:
maybe someone will rob a bank in order to feed their kids
maybe someone will shoot someone else to get into a gang
maybe someone is bored (and a mental case) so they torture animals
maybe someone was abused when they were little so now they abuse other people
maybe someone made a bad decision...drives drunk...and kills someone
I dunno the list goes on and on! |

Not all uneducated folks are criminals. The uneven distribution of wealth has been around since the dawining of time so that's not it either. My thoughts on this are pretty simple. It's about parenting and being taught that the COMMERCIALS telling us what we need, want, and desire are sometimes WRONG and we can't always have what they say we can. In other words learning the concepts of what I really need vs what I want...respecting the property and person of others. That's not being taught...What kids see is glitzy advertising selling them on the idea that they NEED a product...creates a desire to HAVE it regardless of weather that NEED is real or not...They can't discern NEED with WANT...I prefer to eat over watching TV...therefore I NEED food...assuming I don't have a TV I would WANT one...but the way it would be pushed/sold/advertised is as though it were equal to food and therefore a NEED. It's unfortunate that our society is so consumption driven...PEACE! |

Materialistic ideals. Societies that don't emphasize positions have little or no crime. |

You are right with all 3, and I would add poor parental upbringing. Children with parents who are poor role models, loose on their morals and character, and neglectful usually are the ones who turn out to be criminals. |
