But I'm something of a heretic. I don't believe the soul enters the body until some time in the second or third trimester. And I believe the fetus is no more special than any other animal until the soul enters the body.

Ideally abortion should be outlawed, but realistically, this would be worse for women and babies and society.
Think about it.
Even if it were against the law, rich people could fly to Canada and get an abortion. So the poor would suffer, either by having a baby they can't support, or by getting an illegal abortion by an uncertified doctor. This would be dangerous to the mother's life.
The world is not perfect, and sometimes people get pregnant without meaning to. A clump of cells is not a baby, it doesn't have emotions, or breathe or think or have a soul yet.
It should be a woman's choice whether or not to bring life into the world. The earth is overpopulated to begin with, why birth more babies that are simply unwanted?
That's my opinion, anyway.

okay.. I know even if you think abortion is wrong and cruel (like most people that answer this will) you all have to agree that you have no say in the decision.. right? it is the mothers.. She isn't going to listen to protesters.. She will make her own decision depending on where she is at that moment in time.. that's why... I believe in the freedom of choice.

Pro-choice, because there are a few occasions where having a baby would lead to too many complexities within a family. Otherwise I don't see a huge point to getting it done. If you don't want to raise a baby yet, then set him/her up for adoption (yes, I know it'd be hard to do).

I'm Pro choice, but not because I support Abortion. But because i don't believe that I meaning We the United States have any say in the decisions of women who are not financially and mentally ready to give birth. It's not OUR decision it's THEIRS. And thats that.

I mean, its a horrible thought to have in your head.
Killing a baby isnt the image everyone wants to see.

BUT, i do understand if someone was raped or just cant handle a baby then i think its alright.
Because if a teen was raped, chances are she doesnt want that baby, and she cant afford it.

And if someone cant handle a child, or isnt fit to be a mother, why bring in something to the world that isnt wanted or cant be cared for? Yes, theres always adoption, but i mean just knowing that a child, YOUR child, is out there, in someone elses arms is also a hard fact to face. So in some cases, its okay.

But i still dont like the idea of it.
But im sympathetic for those who are in this situation

I think there are situations that call for it. I think it is not right for others to judge people who get one because it is their decision, their body that changes, their life that changes. I am neither for or against. I am just going to say this; I hate fanatical anti-abortion people who attack you on the street with pamphlets because it wasn't something I wanted to see when I was like 11 years old... I don't think it is moral but... I digress because I could go on forever

For the person that put "illegal," you are very mistaken.

Pro-choice of course! Life is not viable until your third trimester, and even then it is often not. Or in other words, a fetus cannot exist outside of the womb in any situation until its way far along. And even in late-term abortions, if the mother is likely going to die from the birth of a baby, then does it not make a lot more sense to allow a mother the option to choose to save the life of a fully-developed, fully-functional, thinking, breathing human being over a fetus?

Also, if you're poor and 15, I rather you have an abortion than try and raise a child in utter poverty or give it up for adoption so that it can live a horrible life in and out of foster care until it finally just gets arrested. I mean, seriously? It's okay to bring a human being into a life of known misery? A child should never be a punishment but something that is wanted and cherished. Not everyone has the same access to information about birth control and most young ones don't have any access to any birth control form whatsoever.

Lastly, if a woman is raped and gets pregnant, making her have the baby of her attacker would be just as psychologically trying as actually being raped. Could you imagine keeping that filths seed inside of you for 9 months even if you planned to put it up for adoption? What if it came looking for you, it's birth mother, when it got older. Would you not hate it because you'd be looking into the eyes of someone who resembled your attacker? Or worse, a combination of yourself and your attacker?

Of course, I am PRO CHOICE! Meaning I think it's largely up to the individual woman to make her own decision.

I dont find it bad, there are plenty of reasons that you need to get rid of the child, but then again, killing it is a little harsh, so, idk, i guess its better to me to get rid of it, like if you were raped, and your liek 14, you dont need a child, and def. not to go thru birth...

people just shouldnt get pregnant at such an early age to need abortion. if they do get pregnant for messing around, god help those poor souls. they should have the baby if they're old enough like around 16 but if they're like 14 or something they should get an abortion. abortions are still useful to some bad kids out there. shame shame

i know many people say no to abortion because it "kills a life" but some young children if they dont get an abortion can DIE during child birth! i think that's worse.

none. i think it should be legal because it's a women's right and these women could have hostile situations at home that would be devastating if they were pregnant..rape.yes why would you want to have a child you despise.? but morally, i would never do that. morally, i think its wrong. its like you have the right to talk about people with guns, but who are you to take the life of your own son? like if he were alive, would you really stand there and take his life away, the one you created?
