What happens to shoplifters?

you get picked up at the store by the police in front of everyone and they bring you to the police station. then they call your mom. she has to pay a fine, usually 300 dollars and your name gets in the paper for shoplifting. its very embarrassing. that happened to me. i got grounded and they took my skateboard away for a week.

Some stores -- especially in touristy towns such as Panama City Beach -- take a snapshot of those caught shop lifting. The photo is then posted in the store for all to see and poke fun at.

Depends on the store and how much they stole. anything from being banned from the store up to jail time.

You get caught. If it's your first time, a slap on the wrist. If it's more than a certain amount of money (fixed by the stores policy) they will prosecute. If it's a second offense then you will probably do time.....Black or White

already u become guilty in front of God...

It depends on the severity. I had a girl friend who got caught with over 250$ of goods, she spent 35 days in county jail. I know of another person who was caught with 100$ and had to do 20 hours of community service.

I shoplifted when I was 14. It was only a small thing so they didn't fine me and it was erased from my permanent record when I turned 18.
I guess it depends on how much you shoplifted and how expensive it was, if it was your first time, etc.
I'd guess you'd get a fine....and possibly some community service.

The slow ones end up in jail.

When my friend was caught shoplifting once, I took the blame for my parents wouldn't beat me. They took me to a back room and talked about it to me, than they put my name on file and let me off the hook since I was 13 at the time.

My other friend got caught and was put into a class about shoplifting, stupid stuff.

Mall authorities handed them over to the local police for investigation along with all the witnesses (mall staff/security personnel) and evidences recovered. A case will be filed in the prosecutors office for review and for filing of criminal charge in appropriate court of law which definitely leads to the conviction of the offender. Finally, to serve the court sentence.

If they are white in most cases nothing... if they are black in all cases they go to jail... cause the police can chose to enforce the law or not... with white people usually white skin is a get out of jail free card....
