What if i don't want to attend a witness deposition?

The fifth amendment deals with self-incrimination, applies to defendants in criminal cases, and has absolutely nothing to do with being a witness in a civil case.

If you ignore a subpoena, you've committed a crime, called "contempt of court," for which a bench warrant will be issued for your arrest.

Being a witness in a case that has nothing to do with you isn't a big deal. You answer questions truthfully; you go home. Not worth getting a criminal record over.

U will go to jail for contempt.

All you have to do is go there and say you don't remember something that happened 3 years ago and did not think was a big deal or whatever but if you don't go you will be found in contempt and given jail time.

a bench can be issued if the law firm pushes a no show under the law of proper service of subpoena.however if you do not remember you should just go and make a matter of record and be gone within 10 min and your duty has been satisfied we are talking a civil matter here

If you have been subpoenaed, you must attend or law enforcement can pick you up and take you there, or if they can't find you then, they can issue a warrant for your arrest for contempt of court and put you in jail when they do find you. Our justice system depends on people who have information relevant to cases sharing it so that the truth can be reached. If you truly don't remember anything, contact the lawyers who have subpoenaed you and explain that (although they'll probably still want you to come to get it on the record that you don't remember anything), but if it's just a matter of not wanting to be involved, get over it.

You will go to gaol if you don't go if you received a subpoena. All you have to do it tell the truth. If you genuinely don't remember then say that. If you made a statement at the time (surely you filled in an incident report at the time with your company) then all you have to do is read it out in court, but you can still add that you now don't remember the incident, but if you lie, they are likely to pick up on this and you will be in trouble. Just tell the truth!
