Hi,
One of my friend ( belongs to Bramhin Family) wants to marry a girl with his own choice.
But the thing is that his parents are not ready just bcoz of the inter caste as they are quite orthodox.
both the couple likes each other and quite committed.
The boy is waiting for his parents approval more than a year....but they are still not ready not even ready to talk about this matter.
And its been more than 5 years they are engaged.......
Now they want to get married as soon as possible as both are well settled in their respective jobs.
I want to know if they get married without the the parents approval ( Boy's Side), will it be wrong ???????

They're both already settled an also carry a five year relation. Their parents know very well they cant stop the marriage. But as traditional Brahmins they can really not o the marriage straight, they will get lots of pressure from their relatives and other caste heads.
The guy has already made a decision let him stick to it. Coz ultimately if they break up just because they didnt get a green signal from tgheir parents, that would end up spoiling the girls life which is unacceptable.
If he has so much respect for his parents he'd have chosen a brahmin girl and they would have definitely agreed. He made the decision without parents' consent and whats the fun in waiting for their acceptance. |

i am also an brahmin and love one girl of another caste....i made my parents agreed to the relationship....and they accept it...tell ur friend to make his parents understand as he has to live his life with her and they know each other very well. |

It will not be wrong at all if they can marry now without the approval of their parents. But if they can wait for 5 years, they can wait for 2 months more to tell their parents the deadline. I think this will be the right procedure. Even, I won by this policy ! |

How can those of us who weren't raised in that culture answer this question?
Being a strong minded, independent American woman, my response would be that it's about time they got married. If they are both working and can support themselves then go ahead and marry. Just remember this when the children grow up.
But that would not be an appropriate response for some one in a different culture.
They will have to decide what is more important. Their feelings for each other or their adherence to the father's culture. |

They can go ahead and marry soon. If they are really love each other then they can definitely go forward. It might be wrong if they didn't intimate their parents and didn't wait for their approval. They have
already wait for more than a year.
Their parents will accept after one or two year if they live well. The important thing is that the boy and girl should love each other truly.
