Definitly freedom. Without it nothing else would matter. Some of the other posts suggest that security is number one. Are you telling us that you would rather be in a safe and secure cage then have the freedom to choose your religion, where you live, the type of job you would like etc..... I'll take the chance that I could be robbed or murdered at any time in order to keep my freedom. |

all 3, security above all, i feel freedom is still strong in America (more than a lot of other countries), social welfare-that's a VERY close one to security right now |

All these factors are important and sacrificing one of these areas will weaken us as a nation. We have to be careful not to let the "powers that be" brainwash us into "either-or" thinking. We as a people have enough heart and courage to adequately and humanely address all three if we choose to. |

Security and Social Welfare are suggestive of someone looking out for somebody else; nice, but not what I would call the cardinal value of the U.S.
I say freedom is most important, and most representative of America. |

Freedom is most important. It is what this country was founded upon. Security is second.
Social welfare was never intended to be part of this country. Anyone who doubts that should read the writings and speeches of the Founding Fathers. Even FDR, creator of social welfare, lamented that it should not be a permanent condition. |

Security... altho the crime rates are pathetic... couldn't feel less secure... more chances of being robbed and killed over some loser wanting drug money than terrorist ever getting me. |

Why have republicans given us a choice? Democrats will work to protect all freedoms. I choose all. |

the freedom to have security and promote the general welfare. Freedom without responsibility is not America. |

Freedom - both personal and economic. Then security.
To hell with social welfare - it's not in the Constitution. |
