Depends on where you live. In some states, the age is the day you are born. And actually, depending on what the 'whipping' entails, abuse is generally illegal in the USA.

You should never get whippings. If you want to avoid getting whippings then don't do whatever it is you are doing to make your parents angry enough to hit you. If you are getting hit for no reason or you are getting beaten then talk to your teacher.

I'd say the age that you are considered and adult, 18yrs. old. Although most parents don't whip their kids when they get that old for fear of them fighting back!

I don't know if there is a legal age. If there is, it probably varies from state to state. If you did something wrong and your parents are into spanking, and you call the police on them, some states allow spanking even when an officer is present. My friend spanked her 14 year old because she kept getting arrested. The 14 year old called the police on her mom and the police told her mom they would do nothing, so my friend spanked her again.
You could make your situation at home worse by calling the cops on your parents if you did do something very wrong.
If you did nothing wrong and your parent is "whipping" you for the fun of it, then call the cops. They will get arrested.

A parent to child "whipping" should not occur. I could see maybe a parent slapping a child, but no "whipping." I would say the age of 14 would be the age where a parent shouldn't be physically touching a child with the intent of harm.

First of all, contrary to many of the respondents to this question,I am all for corporal punishment for kids when they truly deserve it. The tree hugging peaceniks would rather let everybody do anything they want with never a repercussion or reprimand. I guess after 18 it's not really a whipping, but an assault Although it may be well justified. I also very much liked what "anonymous" had to say, quite succinct and insightful, my friend.

THERE is no reason to be whipped.. so.. I would say..... Before Birth....

otherwise... you spend the rest of your life in therapy to deal with the abuse issues.. not to mention the self esteem and self worth damage...

Growing up in the 70s in the S outh and getting wippins wen needed my Dad would say as long as you live under my roof your never to old for a wippin and my last one was at 15

There is NOTHING wrong with a good whipping. I use a strap and leather belt on my kids EVERYDAY. I blister their butts and make them whelp and cry. I enjoy whipping them. I grit my teeth and whip hard and laugh.
