The whole country is at fault. Sometime ago people decided that the only thing worth teaching children was math and science. Since we draw our wisdom from interpretation of literature and the arts wisdom is very rare now in our country. So we just taught our best and brightest (degenerates) but instilled no wisdom to help them tell good from bad. These so called smart people decided to change laws for their personal gain as the last business crooks did before them. But these guys are lacking so much wisdom they did not even have the sense to cover their tracks properly and they got caught up in a big way. And they will get away with it because money defines right and wrong in America. |

FDR, LBJ, Carter, Reagan, Clinton, Bush, Obama and all of the elected and appointed officials they worked with. I think that should cover it for everyone. |

Answers 1,2,3, wrong. Alan Greenspan, pursued a reckless and short-sighted monetary policy. Kind of like sweeping radioactive waste under the carpet and then saying the floor is clean. There is no single-handed culprit, but Greenspan is just about as guilty as anyone. |

March 19, 2009: Right now, there is no one individual being held responsible for all of it, but there are plenty of names to choose from and it usually comes down to which party you want to blame and who you want to believe.
If you believe the housing crisis (e.g people not being able to pay back their mortgages) is the original problem, then you have to reach back to the time that government began telling banks how to manage credit...telling them their standards were unfounded...telling them to start lending money regardless of whether or not the borrowers failed in the banks' credit screens. That would be Clinton and his administration. But since Clinton is not in the limelight right now, you don't hear his name invoked as much right now.
The Democrats blame Bush for the huge debt Obama "inherited". But then the Dems never heard the expression "two wrongs don't make a right" and proceeded to more than double the obligations with first the Stimulus Bill, then the Omnibus Bill, and we haven't even gotten to the new Obama budget yet.
Names being cast about as blameworthy now:
President Barack Obama,
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid
Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner
Former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson
Senator J. Dodd (D-Connecticut)
If you want to go back to the George W. Bush administration, you have lots of names there too that people are pointing the finger at for blame.
Right now it seems like a complete mess though with crazy legislation getting passed on the fly that Congressmen don't even get to read before being called to vote on it, and it ends up in debacles like the AIG Bonus Bust.
Time to clean house. These jumping-jack idiots in Washington can't seem to get it right! Time to start over. AGAIN! |

Clinton did it 80 billion years ago when the communists and the aliens converged during the big bang to cause all evil for the rest of eternity. GW Bush tried to stop them but it was too late and the democrats shot his dog in front of him. Poor GW, coddle him! Coddle our savior! |
