The world court convicted a Bosnian of genocide in the late 1990's.
They gave him a two year prison sentence
Then immediantly said, instead of serving it in a prison, he could serve it in his home town jail, so his mother could visit him.
Well since his home town agreed with what he did and supported him
He was treated like a hero in the jail, with a real bed, couch, tv etc
So it was basicly like he was given house arrest.
Why ?
Because he committed genocide against serbian civilians and the europeans didn't like serbians at the time, so they didn't want to punish him. |

Nothing if you kill everyone!
The United Nations, however, will hold a trial. If the person is found guilty, a punishment is decided by the people holding the trial. Usually it is life in prison or execution. However, it could be anything.
It really depends on what the international group decides to do. They may just send the person back to their home country and let that country deal with them. There they could go through another trial and possibly be executed or they could be released and resume their previous role of killing people. |
