What is your opinon on Gun Control in the U.S.?

I have a history book from the 1880s and it says that the Right to Keep and Bear Arms means that a "gentleman cannot be deprived of the right to carry a sidearm."

As a former federal agent and while working in foreign countries, I carried a concealed weapon for years without ever showing it (even though provoked a couple of times).

I am all for gentlemen (or ladies) carrying sidearms, but I do not want to accord gang members, psychos and stick-up men the same privilege.

As far as hunting weapons, these are fine (except in the city where there is no game but squirrels and the occasional rat).

I believe I have a right to own a gun.. I also feel that it should be harder to get. I see nothing wrong with people having to wait for a backround check to get it

We already have laws. When you outlaw guns, then only the outlaws will have them. Say! Didn't Hitler outlaw guns?
I don't own one. I want to be up close and really personal when I kill the SOB that comes into my house. I want to breathe in his last breath as it escapes his liberal, welfare frought, drug infested body. In Florida, we have the right to kill intruders.

I believe the Constitution is the law of the land, and the Second Amendment clearly prohibits gun control, so I'm against any gun control.

my opinion on GUN CONTROL in the U.S. is that we should be allowed to bare our own arms and be capable to have our own protection in our houses. well sweden lets people have guns easier than here and they have a way lower crime rate. Someone in Sweden shot other people just about a month ago, and in the news they said it was not usual there.

if no one had a gun, people would not be killed by them. they would probably be killed like they used to be before guns were invented. I think during medieval times, lots more people got killed and they had no guns.

if no legal guns were around only the criminals would have them and then we would really be in trouble.

Toss out lobbyist and you will see the law change with in a week. I am not saying an outright ban on the weapons, but laws would be in place so that a change would take place over all.

I have read up many times on the subject and what other thought about on it. I have seen many with some really great ideas. People are just to scared to solve the problems that we face because of what guns do.

We dont need a full ban, we just need to remove guns from people that would use them to ill effect. The only way to do that is to remove all forms of lobbyist. As of now they dont want that because its profit lose. This war has nothing to do with the people. We are just the bait and switch needed to keep the heat off the lobbyist for the gun makers. If they say it enough times, people will think its true.

We want guns, we want guns, we want GUNS. When the fact of the matter is we all WANT GUN CONTROL. Gun control does not require a person to give up their gun, just that people that would use it to ill effect should have it removed. So stop talking about we want guns and start talking about we want gun control.

Thumbs down shows that your either a lobbyist or a gun maker. You know you want gun control, its the reason you carry a gun, because your scared to solve the problems that guns cause. You think that by having a gun, you have solved your problem in the event that somebody pulls a gun on you. The only answer to that problem is when it happens. One or two results will come out of it. You will be the victor, or somebody you know and love will be dead if not youself.

So gun control is what you really need, and the gun is whats needed to come second.

i wasn't even aware there was any control. honestly though, i've enjoyed firearms all my life, but try to pass a few restrictions and die hard conservatives will poo a brick and throw the second amendment at you. what they fail to recognize is, that was passed when guns were muskets! the laws need to be updated to deal with the much more lethal firearms.

I can't understand it. Aside from hunting for food, guns were made to kill stuff. They can kill people. One person gets one, another will get one to protect themselves. It's a personal cold war if you ask me.
