What made Hitler decide to attack all the european countries?

Hitler was a Politician, not a General. He wasn't skilled in the art of war and so after the initial Blitzkrieg (lightening war) the momentum of the german army slowed down and was defeated by a series of attrition (wearing away gradually).

The same reason as Saddam invaded Iran, and then Kuwait. These dictators become megalomaniacs, power mad, or just plain nuts. Hitler's reason was for more space for his pure Ayran dream. He was nuts, too. He came to power through apathy of the German voters, and it proves the point that however disenchanted one is with politicians, one MUST vote. Not voting brings in the extremists.

He made it stronger than one nation at a time; he did not invade and fight all nations at the same time; like he would start marking up Hungary then Romania, â€¦â€¦. France ... until UK and finally tattle Russia etc. He discovered that it was possible to grape wealthy from the subdued nations one by one and conquered them, while strengthening his stance. He did not fight all nations at once and used excuses as propaganda (give a country an ultimatum to return the land it took or something, like that before attacking); -he got half of Europe one country at a time, grape the wealth, created a strong grip there, started accusing the next nation stating that it was his last enemy..... after that he points to the next, just like that. Until Europe discovered that he was lying and wanted to choke them all up-- when it was too late; he was now controlling a large amount of wealth and trust from the German population whom he had dragged from poverty to riches. He also used these annexed means of production and wealth to build, enhance and sustain the large army.
Edit: when Hittler was making demands, Europe was feeling guilty about World war II, and I results that had led German to be very poor so they thought they were being careful, granting him some of the requests. This is a lesson to us - lets not feel over guilty way too sorry for terrorists and suicide bombers -they dont like us even if we grant them their requests.

Europe was so traumatized by the carnage of WW1 that the European leadership tried to do everything they could to prevent war, even giving a aberrant madman like Hitler concessions in hopes that he would just go away. So what happened is that Hitler thought that his 3rd Reich was truly invincible and pushed on. The historical truth is that France would've whupped Germany to a frazzle had they not been so stupid in the troop deployments. Czechoslovakia would've beat Germany as well. Nobody wanted war, everybody wanted to appease Hitler, and they backed themselves into the bloodiest war in human history. History does not repeat itself, idiots don't learn the first time.

Ideology aside, Hitler spent years building up his forces. He had little choice. After World War I, Germany was disarmed and in economic ruin. He had to put the people back to work improving roads, building ships and military vehicles (tanks, planes, subs, etc). Once he had all the machinery he thought he needed, his plans for world conquest became clear.

He was lucky in some aspects, especially in the timing of his movements and intelligence gathering to make the most of attacks.

As a previous answerer mentioned, the world did not want another war. Hitler basicly got his way by being a bully early on.

It was not Hitler's belief. It is a fact that the German Army is the strongest and most disciplined army in the world during World War II. It took all the combined forces of U.S., Great Britain and Russia to defeat Germany. Had these countries fought individually, there's no way that they could have won against Germany. It is the same with World War I. Germany alone fought against combined forces of Russia, France and Great Britain with later participation of the U.S. in the war.

France and Great Britain's attempts to appease Hitler was a sign and recognition that Germany's power is to be reckoned with. It was the logical diplomatic move at that time to avoid conflict with Germany. For, why would you appease somebody if you think you can beat him?.

what made Hitlers armies so successful in WW2 was a new form of warfare that was used by Hitler. this type of warfare had never been seen or used before. Hitler introduced the Blitzgreig (lightening war) which consisted of massive air attacks, followeed by dense artillery attack and then the german panzer with its 88mm. shells went forward followed by, at the time the finest infantry soldiers in the world.

All the information and reading I have done about Hitler, is that he was a very troubled man. What person in their right mind would have done the inexcusable torturing of people as he did?

I really think that we as human, should beware of behaviors like his. We need to protect our children; no matter what color or ethnicity they are. I admire those who fought against Hitler's reign and those who survived!

We must, as a people, make sure nothing like that ever happens again.

So to answer your initial question. He totally believed in what he was doing, and stood strong in his beliefs. He was arrogant and got away with what he wanted because no one had the strength to stand up to him.

But let's not fall into the trap of thinking it was all down to one person. It takes a WHOLE COUNTRY to make a dictatorship. Millions of Germans colluded in this.

Hitler believed several things that encouraged him to invade Europe. 1. The German people were genetically superior to all other races on earth (herrenmenschen). 2. The German people had the right to expand their lands (lebensraum or room to live). 3. The Western powers were too tired from World War I to stop Germany from rearming. 4. He could play divide and conquer by making a treaty of peace with the Soviet Union and then attacking them after Poland and the Western European countries were taken. 5. Above all, it was his duty as a German to rid the world of Judaism and its derivative philosophies of Christianity and Marxism and any and all costs incurred in trying to accomplish this goal would earn him the undying gratitude of the German people.
He was right about 3 and 4. He believed he was right about all 5, but his complete faith in his correctness about item 5 impelled him to take extreme chances. The resulting massive loss of life in Europe in general and in Germany in particular was not what the German people as a whole would have wanted, but Hitler would not have been dissuaded even if he could have known the outcome in advance.

Marcus is wrong because Hitler was in the 1st world war and pretty adept at the skills of warfare, although he was a better politician. Personally I think he had the right ideas but went about it in the wrong ways.

he took germany with 25,000 soldiers? these things are not as hard as you would imagine , a they took control of each country the inlisted white soldier they had the choice of join or die many took the first option .

a mental boost he had was the fact that he was backed by very influential people yet hitler himself was just a puppet like bliar and dubya , hitler was a member of the truly secret society and the fools society . dubya is a member of the scull and bones (order of death and the Bohemian grove , bliar is also a member of one of these organisation and thats the only way you can become primeinister or president but in the process they end up selling there souls and becoming puppets .

Simple. Hitler didn't like alcohol, cigarettes or women. Ah, and he was a vegetarian. A person who deprives himself of such pleasures may turn very bitter and vindictive.
