What rights should animals have?
Find answers to your legal question.

What rights should animals have?

And do all animals have equal rights? From the biggest animals to the smallest insects, they are all equal?

Should an animal have a right not to feel pain? Because isn't it true that in nature, the majority of animals die a horrible death (getting eaten, hunger, exposure etc.). So granted, animals don't have that right in the first place, doesn't this set a double standard as its okay for 99% who are in nature to suffer but the 1% of animals in captivity must be well kept.

should an animal have the right to live? If so, doesn't such a right inherently violate itself. Because in order to keep some animals alive, you must kill others. For example, a carnivore must eat other animals to survive. To let a carnivore live is to kill other animals.

I mean, there are millions of people around the road advocating animal rights. What are they actually trying to achieve? Shouldn't they have some sort of constitution and set of goals?

Please do not reply if you're just going to abuse me - I'm not for or against vegetarism or animal rights - I'm simply looking for some interesting perspective into this topic.

A domestic animal should be treated with respect. Cattle, sheep and swine will be treated with respect and killed accordingly.

Dogs and Cats, taken into a home should be taken care of and fed and groomed as needed. Trips to the vets and the alike.

We had to put our dog to sleep, last week. We sat with her until she died quietly. We love our animals. They do not understand there is no food.

Animals do not have rights. People have a responsibility to treat animals humanely. That's a big difference that people such as the nuts involved with PETA, Greenpeace and Earth Liberation Front will never understand.

What does religion have to do with this?

Anyways, animals should be protected from domestic abuse but that is it in my opinion.

the people who fight for animal rights are mainly arguing things like don't use real fur in clothing, or things like that. Think about your question, i mean, everyone feels pain. being eaten, being hungry and being exposed is a way of life for wild animals. that is how they adapt. if everyone took in the other 99% of the animals into captivity and spoiled them, how would their next generations survive if humans freed them, or left them alone? how do they learn to defend themselves? nature can be cruel on anybody, but that's life

This is a gray area question.

It's also a huge matter of opinion - is cheating okay when you take away the chance from someone who worked hard & true for their path - but in the end you save thousands from disease? Do the ends justify the means?

There are so many directions to take these sort of questions (but I guess that's what makes them fun, no?)

Personally, I think that when taking an animal out of the 'natural' enviornment (the wild, whatever you want to call it) you therefore take responsibility for caring of that animal. But then again, there's the argument of 'If they were never really born in the wild then how can they (petstore pets, puppy mill puppies, etc) how can they be expected to survive & therefore why should we hold responsibility?

Again with the gray area!

well for dogs and cats here in kentucky, they are supposed to be on a leash. they do not have the right to bite but they maybe able to protect the inside of your house. it is wise to understand that any animal considered to be a pet can't roam at large. this is all i know about it.
