What the hell is wrong here?

Anaheim, a cop kills a kid, and gets paid while on leave, as they investigate ? The cop was chasing some bad guys, this kid hears the commotion, grabs a mop, and goes out to have a look see, A cop see's him, opens up on him, kills him, and say's oops.
WTF am I the only one that thinks that's wrong?
This cop SHOULD be in jail .
This is criminal negligence, at the very least.
There's NO excuse for this.
This cop is a danger to society. period.
His "job" doesn't put him above the law, or does it ?
It's obvious he's getting away with murder, and getting paid.

Whoever say's "no one is above the law" is full of sh*t.
Government isn't accountable for ANYTHING, That has to change, it's rampant. This cop must be punished, just like anyone else.

Diane B.- point taken, but this was a "pursuit", not a "home invasion call", Faux news is pretty sketchy to begin with but the jest of the matter was this kinda thing happens too much, with jury's "acquitting, the majority of the time". And, with the current "regime", and their "asset forfeiture","homeland security", national secracy", "blatant disreguard" of our constitutional Rights, the continued " feeding of the beast" (federal reserve) by a government run amuck, can you blame me for being a little piss*d. This was America, what happened?

First off its not murder unless he did it on purpose. Without knowing specific details to the story such as if the guys he was chasing were armed, I cannot determine if the cop's actions were permissible. If it was purely accidental and the cop felt the kid was a threat then its manslaughter.

If that's the way it went down I agree with you but I would like to have seen a police report or something about what the other side had to say about how it went down! If we want laws changed we damn well better keep O boomer out of the White House or we'll be living under a socialist Police state.

you know the innocent until proven guilty quote? our legal system is based on this. even though i agree with you our laws says that the proof of guilt has to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. maybe US should adopt europe's law where they are guilty until proven innocent where the accused has to prove they are innocent and not the otherway around

Cops have a very dangerous job. Regardless of what was really there the cop saw a threat and reacted accordingly.

I'm not saying that he should be disciplined or even prosecuted, but he will have to live with the fact that he killed an innocent kid. That may be a far worse punishment than anything the state could ever do to him

He is not above the law, but he does have rights under the law. We investigate before we charge people, we try them before we convict them and we convict them before we punish them.

It just happened. There will be plenty of time to hang the guy later.

you are totally right, he should go to jail...and loose his job...and most def. not be sitting at home getting paid during an investigation...but sadly...he is above the law and will probablly get off free!

I think it was wrong the cop shot first and asked later. I doubt he will go to jail, he might be fired and the family will sue him.

Of course, but the cop could easily lie and be like he came running this way or something and I suspected it was the bad guys. He could also mention what was the kid doing at the scene at this time with out a parent and the sort.... makes you wonder....

But yeah it is wrong though....

Too much is left out of this. Investigations are completed on every incident, usually paid pending the outcome. Though I think it is wrong, I think everyone is innocent until proven guilty.

I really think the world has gone crazy, poor kid, just going to have a look and some trigger happy cop kills him, but in your country guns are allowed and the cop would'nt know in the instant that he saw the kid with the mop that it wasn't a weapon and the cops andrenalin would have been high as. Doesn't make it right and yes I think he should be held accountable at least then a message is sent out that it doesn't pay to be trigger happy.
You guys have a chance to make huge changes (for the better) next week, I hope you don't stuff it up.
