Probably a corporate lawyer, patent lawyer, large real estate contract lawyer, or any type of intellectual property lawyer. Those areas are generally pretty well paid, except patent lawyers need to have an undergraduate degree in a science to even sit for the patent bar. So if you think you want to go that route, make sure you have a degree in biology, chemistry, physics, etc. It's highly specialized because you have to understand lots of technical scientific language, and they're always in high demand with high starting salaries, every time I check out the current listings for law positions. It kind of annoys me that I didn't know that before I majored in what I majored in. I wish I could go back and get a degree in biology so I could get one of those high paying positions when I graduate law school. |

Generally the lawyers at large private firms in major cities will have the highest salaries. Right out of law school, large private firms could start their associates at as much as $200,000 per year. Granted, you have to have ranked very highly from one of the top schools in the country to get an offer like that. |

That is a very hard answer.
Mass tort lawyers can make a lot of money very quickly and easily.
However, when it comes to consistent pay, probably partners at the big law firms. They get pay checks, bonuses and partner distributions. |

Solictors working for a large firm who have major commercial clients will earn an average in excess of £1m per annum at partner level.
QC's in commeecial practice could expect fee income at or above this.
This is very atypical of most legal incomes, I can assure you of that. |

Tax attorneys and corporate attys are typically paid the most - because they are sued the most and therefore pay the highest professional insurance fees. Conveyancing work pays the least and is fraught with all kinds of danger. See http://bccondos.ca/forums/viewtopic.php?p=1147#1147 for a heads-up. This guy's breach of undertakings enjoys first place as the biggest lawyer fraud in B.C. - and that's saying something! |

Corporate, hands down. Low-end lawyers in any other area might as well be playing the blues on a street corner; low-end corporate lawyers make a pretty comfortable living. In the mid-range, every lawyer makes a comfortable living, but the corporate mid-range folks are a little more comfy than most.
As far as the high-end goes...Sure, Personal Injury lawyers get the occasional big payout. High-end criminal lawyers are the folks most lay people think rake it in. Yet specialists in Mergers & Acquisitions make money the quantum of which is beyond the ken of mere mortals. |

divorce lawyer...and yes it just goes on statics the larger the city the more ppl there are to get divorced. And more than 50% of marriages end in divorce. So you go to a larger city area that is more family oriented then you'll bank. I suggest going with a firm. |
