What would be the outcome of gun control?( the controled side)?

Criminals, thugs, robbers & terrorist would have lots & lots of bad dangerous automatic & semi automatic weapons to use against the innocent people "We the people" would be at our most vulnerable & would have to rely on the police to protect "we the people" as they would be the only ones who could legally posses them! We would have nothing to hunt for food or protect ourselves from the criminals, thugs, robbers or terrorist! It is not a good thing!!!!!!!!!!!!! And if government could gain control to come into our homes & take our guns what would be next? They could have reason to plant devices on our homes to catch us or they could make us all have small vehicles so stay under the law's abailty to persue us or ration our food or who knows what! That is just a start of what could be!

you are missing the point, we need "really good criminal control" . guns get the blame for criminals actions.

Criminals would have more confidence that they would be safe and the only one to likely have the guns. There really aren't many benefits from gun control except maybe, but not likely, it would make them harder to get for criminals. Those in favor of it might like the idea of making criminals out of people who own guns. They are not the types to increase the punishment for using a gun in a crime so I don't think you could fairly include that.

Ha! What's your definition of really good gun control? If guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns. People who already break the law don't care about any new laws. It would make the honest people who are responsible gun owners even more susceptible to crime, not able to legally defend themselves. The guns WILL still be out there, and criminals WILL get them.

Dee, gun control is not the answer.. If you put a gun in the hands of a responsible citizen you have a responsible citizen with a gun.. the problem is not controlling the guns. Gun control is the governments way of putting a band aid where we need a total hip replacement. Controling guns is not the answer. raising educated children with responsible parents and having serious punishment for crimes of any kind.. the french has it right.. get caught stealing something chop off your hand.. In our legal system the criminal has more rights then the victim.. It ain't about the guns..
I llive in a state where I can own a gun and carry it. just like the constitution says..

Stupid people and the NRA always have the same argument. Tighter gun controls means less guns for innocent people. This is the stupidest argument ever. Guns are the problem, not the distribution of guns. Less guns in the world will always be better that more guns.

All of the criminals who get their guns illegally would continue to do so and everyone else who wants a gun for any legitimate reason (like protection) would not be able to obtain one.

There are a whole lot more normal people out there than crazies. If some crazy wants to go shoot up a school or something and kill a bunch of innocent people they will find a way to do it, weather they get their gun legally or not. You have a much better chance of surviving something like that if any sane person in the vicinity is also armed. How many people might have been saved if even ONE other student at Virginia Tech had also been carrying a gun? If anything like that ever happened to you and some crazy s.o.b came in to your class guns blazing, you can bet you'd be praying that the guy next to you was armed!

People would be using knives, gas, and anything other than guns to rob banks, hold people hostage, etc. The use of the weapon would just shift to something else. There would be no solution because we Americans are so stubborn.....
