What would happen if someone phoned the cops to say we smoked pot?

Our ex-roommate did this to us; called the cops (our landlord happens to be an undercover cop drug specialist, who told his brother, who told us, and this is how we knew). What is likely to happen next? I know without a warrant, even the landlord can't go through our belongings, but would they really go as far as to get a warrant and search the house and try to charge us? On just a simple pot-smoking allegation? The way the guy who told us say it, it sounds like they're ready to tear the house apart searching. But what exactly might happen?

They can't fine us unless they find something (which they won't), and they can't hope to find something without a search of the house.

i doubt many police depts have the money and manpower to spend on frivolous things like this. perhaps, if they thought you were selling, they would try to make a buy, and proceed from there. but if they investigated eveyone who might smoke pot they would get nothing else done and run out of money soon. and what would be the payoff, they find a half gram of pot? wht is the penalty for that locally? cost more to prosecute then the fines recovered.

I reported my ex roomate for smoking pot in the house and the police came and when they saw his eyes searched his room and found his stash and confiscated it

probably not much, cops actually have better things to do with their time than try to bust a person in their own homes

if your friend reported that you had mass quantities of it, or that you were selling it, then the cops might come around

Everyone smokes pot, they probably won't do anything unless you have young children in the house, then you'll probably get a fine and go to rehab, but if your in like Welland or something, I doubt anything major lol
My boyfriend lives there so I been there a few times, he doesn't even smoke pot but knows people who do. I live in Nj and even there, pot isn't much of a big deal. Yeah you can't do it on the street (.....in daylight...), and if caught with it, it'll be taken and you'll get a fine & community service but that's pretty much it. And America is a bit more strict then Canada.

Just ditch the stash, bury it in the yard or something, under a rock somewhere, and febreeze the hell out of your house.
