You'd be charged and convicted of some kind of manslaughter depending on your jurisdiction. Depending on where this happened you could get something as low as 6 months while in other location you could be getting 10 years. Normally something like this would be 2-4 years.

You and your employer will also then be sued in civil court.

Police sometimes use a silent approach because they need to catch perpetrators in the act, there are far too many legal defences in the statement "it wasn't me sir, the police arrested me on the street outside the burgled premises".
It is always useful to know if any alcohol levels are present when a pedestrian is killed or injured in the road.
It's suggested that two police cars were on the same route, could they have been answering the same call.

If it was an accident you would probably get a high fine and a longer sentence in prison than if you were just dangerous driving. If it was on purpose you would be charged for death of humani and you would be likely to recieve over 20 years in prison.

But you are not her! It depends on the investigation and how or why you ran over them. Running over someone is just too vague to give an accurate answer, though if it were on purpose it could be murder, or an accident ; negligent homicide! Sometimes nothing, like Laura and a guy here who backed over his child and killed him> Be a little more specific and you will get a better answer!

Depends whether it's deemed as Accidental or Dangerous Driving and also if you had been drinking or under the influence of drugs. You got to leave it to the jury.

It all deends as to whether you were at fault or not, if someone jumped into the road and you had no chance of stopping then probably nothing, if you did it intentionally and were found to have done so, then you would face murder charges

I guess you are talking about the recent case where the police car knocked down and killed the 16-year-old girl in Newcastle.

I guess we will have to wait for the inquiry report to find out what happens to the driver.

You should talk with a lawyer. But seriously I hope they take your license away. No lights, speeding excessively and not paying attention. You slow down when the view of the road is blocked or obscured. You didn't know that?? Someone I know was in a very bad motorcycle accident that almost killed him because some idiot driver went fast down and over a hill. If the driver slowed down then the accident might not have been as bad as it was. It might have been avoided in fact. (might have been)

in the uk? Nothing, especially if you were drunk, and you left the scene of the crime.
If perhaps you were sober, stayed and helped, feel really bad etc, then maybe a 5 year sentence.
But being drunk and killing someone with your car seems to mean "get out of jail free card" in the uk at the moment, makes me sick.
