What would make you decide someone is not guilty?

Ok so long story short this my fiances baby momma has a long history of being a straight b****. She had made it known to him in the past that unless he is with her he will never be part of his sons life. She has a history of being physically and verbally abusive towards him. Well when she heard I was pregnant with our second child she lost it when he went to pick up his son, so naturally he tried to leave and while he was giving his son a hug she hit him in the head. She sent him all kinds of text messages saying she was calling the cops and telling them he hit her and pushed her down the stairs but that she would cancel it if he signed over his rights and paid her money. He is scheduled for jury trial next week, if you were on the jury what would make you think? what would make you think he was innocent? also, she pulled the same thing on me a few years ago, i was charged with 2nd degree assualt with deadly weapon but it was dismissed based on witness statements, and she also used her job at the states dept of revenue to look into my tax information and get our address which i have proof of because i reported to the state and they confirmed she did access my info without a business need to know.
