Whats our american rights? laws?

There are three levels at which laws are created, federal, county and local. The police are public servants, the government is a public servant, and the constitution is our guide to freedom. The police need to be changed and only we the people can do so. The police should never have a right to touch, harm or search us. If you wish to do more to over throw the corrupt government that sit on yahoo answers and ask questions you can read http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Constitution and then take action with your fellow man. The first thing that everyone needs to do is get a gun. I know that many people are afraid of the government and it's ability to retaliate against it's own people but know that many of it's own want this change as much as it's own people. The only way to guarantee your safety and freedom is to bare arms. Pretend a gun is a pass to freedom, anyone caught without one won't bode well against those that want to harm your freedoms.
Once you have your gun, you need to find your friends, as many as you can and spread this word as widely, quickly and loudly. Once we have our arms joined, our feet planted and our changes made we can be free. Do not let the government of the US stand in our way to be free. No more wild taxes, no more corruption, no more laws taking away weapons, no more censorship.

The first place to look would be the Constitution of more specifically the Bill of Rights. What you just referred to about searches is in the 4th Amendment of the Bill of Rights. And there are lots of exceptions to that Amendment, including the automobile exception, which means they can search your car if they pulled you over for a legitimate traffic stop and alll that takes is reasonable suspicion. Most other searches require a warrant or probable cause, which is a higher standard than reasonable suspicion. There are many other exceptions as well including the border exception where they can search anybody randomly at any point of entry into the United States. There is also the plain view exception, hot pursuit exception, and several others. Check out the Bill of Rights for other individual American rights that relate to other general things.
