I just think that if you just have the baby, you can give it away to adoption, don't kill it! I can understand if you don't want the baby, so just give it up for adoption. That is my stand on it. |

I'm glad you clarified the way you did. Politically, I think the government should step out of decisions like this. The government has no right to dictate abortion laws. It's a scary thing when we start allowing law to mandate what we can and cannot do with our bodies.
That said, morally, I am strongly opposed to abortion except in very very rare cases. |

1. If a woman doesn't want to get pregnant she should do everything she can to prevent it.
2. If a woman doesn't want her baby, adoption should be the first option.
3. Women that neglect and abuse children should abort if adoption isn't an option.
4. NO partial birth abortions period.
I am a mother of three beautiful children and when I look at their faces, I know they are a gift from God but then I think about those sweet faces with a mother that could care less. To that woman I say Yes let her have an abortion because a woman that would have one in the first place probably doesn't need a child. It's just more humane than to let a child grow up unwanted. |

Although I am against abortion morally, I believe that the pregnant woman must be the one to chose. Society must trust her judgement.
It is wrong to make a woman into a criminal or force her to seek unsafe back alley procedures. |

A parent still has the right to decide after the child is born, no one is taking their right to choose away. Adoption is a simple answer for those who don't want the child. |

There are so many forms of birth control out there and available there is no reason to have an unwanted pregnacy. If you can't afford the BC you damn sure can't afford a baby. Consequences are deterents that keep people from doing wrong things. If you take away the deterents people will not have to consider the effects of the decisions. |

I believe that abortion is a natural right of all women. Their bodies belong to themselves and their control of their own bodies is paramont to all powers of the government. History has shown that when governments attempt to stop women from controlling their bodies, then the attempt always leads to harm for society. Women will abort with or without government sanction. And men will help regardless of the view of a few government nutcakes. Abortion cannot be stopped, but it can be controlled. Those who attempt to control will only be successful if they pass sensible and fruitfull legislation.
Parental control of abortion is also a natural right. Parents have the right to advise a child about abortion. However, the actual abortion should be consented to by the child if possible.
Anti abortion organizations should be outlawed. And they should be liable to suit for their false advice. |

Under a law that would make abortion completely illegal I would be furious if even one woman were raped and then forced by law to carry that child all the way to birth. A government that would do that would be forcing far too many values and beliefs on the woman. For that reason alone it should be the woman who has control over her body. |

I think that abortion should be legal, but rare. As a person who is old enough to recall the days when it was illegal, I knew people who died from "backstreet" abortions. My argument is, that abortions will be performed, legal or illegal. It is best to make them legal, and safe.
If I were the "supreme decider" I would allow one abortion per person, then I would require a tubal ligation. |

I'm pretty middle ground on a lot of political issues, but this one I lean more radical then conservative.
I believe it's the womans choice whether or not to go through something so serious.
I also think they should tighten the abortion thing up a bit by evaluations, classes for the parents dealing with it, and even a seminar on the procedures.
I also think they should get real doctors to perform the procedures, as to ensure it's safe and efficient.
I don't want women using it as a birth control or a contraceptive.
I think women who have been raped should have the choice whether or not to keep the baby, especially if it's a situation that's really scarring (like incestuous rape causing child).
If it's about life or death between a woman and the child...like either/or/neither will live if the baby is in the womb, I find it necessary.
If I was to get pregnant right now, and it was set between me or the baby...I would get an abortion and save my life.
Selfish? Not at all.
I have a son I need to take care of. |

Quite frankly, no one should be able to make that choice but the mother. It is HER choice. If she wants to do it, that is fine with me.
It must be awful to feel you have to abort your pregnancy. If it is that bad, a woman shouldn't be bringing a baby into it anyway. More power to her for doing the RIGHT THING and having an abortion. |

My dog is pregnant but I think I'm gonna abort the unborn mass of cells. It was an accident anyway that she got pregnant. |

I will support abortion when and if there ever is a virus that causes women to become pregnant. Until then, it is a no from me. |

I think if there wasn't abortion we'd have a lot more poverty in this country and women would still be second class citizens like they were in the 50's. |
