Right after the riots start. These will begin when the money becomes worthless and no one can buy the basic necessities any more. It will be ugly and the best armed people will have a major advantage. It will be hell in the cities. |

It would take a major disaster like a terrorist attack or a natural disaster. I mean, that is what happened in New Orleans after Katrina, the people went to the superdome and lived in filth for weeks, while the National Gaurd came in and disarmed the law abiding citizens of their weapons when they needed them most. Do that **** to me, I'm ready to die. |

When it came, nobody called it martial law - that would be too obvious. Instead, they wrapped it in a flag and called it the Patriot Act, and later added the Patriot Act II. These laws redefined criminal activity in such vague terms that anything and anybody can be deemed a criminal for doing anything - or nothing at all.
All that is required is someone **think** you might be a terrorist and you become a terrorist; subject to detention without arrest, no habeas corpus, no lawyer, no charges, no trial, no limitations to your detention, they don't even have to tell anyone they have you. You just dissappear into the night.
If anyone in the Dept of homeland security wants you out of the way, you're gone - and with no recourse to the law. So watch your step, they can get you at any moment of any day and there's nothing you can do about it. |
