When your 16 does your record become clean from whatever your past before you were 16?

No, your juvenile record (record before you become an adult, usually 18) may be sealed when you reach a certain age, but is still there if you get into trouble again.

In Texas, if you get in trouble as a juvenile your record is sealed at age 24 if you have not gotten in any more trouble. If you do commit a crime after 17 the fact you were adjudicated for an offense as a juvenile will be used in determining the appropriate sentence. If you make it to 24 without any further problems with the law then the juvenile record won't be used.

Your juvenile record in Texas is not available for anyone other than law enforcement or government officials. No employer can access the juvenile record, and the court files are not open to the public like adult records.

You may apply to have the record sealed after you reach 18, but there is no need to have a juvenile record expunged, since it will not be availible after age 24 to anyone.

If an arrest results in a finding of not "true" (the adult equilivent is not "guilty") you may have the record expunged, which means it is removed from your record completely, and forever is not available for any reason to be used. It is a crime for an agency with custody of records that have been expunged to give the information to anyone for any reason. Usually the physical record is destroyed, and is not there for anyone to use, and it is removed from any computer database.

Most states are about the same, if not sealed at age 21 then they may be available to the proper authority until age 24. Since 16 is still a juvenile your record will not be sealed at 16.

But it is still a good idea to keep your record clean.

Good Luck

It depends on the law of your state.

It usually becomes sealed, then later expunged.

However, if federal crimes were committed, its another story.

It depends on what the charges were and everything. The charges can sometimes be expunged as well (wiped away) It will not show for a background check for a job, because you were under the age of 18.
Just do your best not to get any charges after 18.

Depends ENTIRELY on State law, and you didn't say where you are.

The relevant age would be 18, anyway, not 16. In some States juvenile records are sealed automatically, in some you can apply to have them sealed, and in some they remain public for ever.

In the UK... it depends "No, your record always sticks with you until death." is very untrue in most cases... most charges will go away after time... but as 16 is the u adult age most things are wiped...

unfortunately not. Many will say it will but it won't. There is good news though. Records are exactly what they mean. If you have something bad or good on your record, then what matters is how soon will your record show something new. As well as what will be recorded.

No, your record always sticks with you until death.

Your record is never completely cleaned. Nothing is every permanently erased from your record. Some things may be classified as expunged, in which case an employer wouldn't have access to it, but law enforcement and certain background checks will reveal everything in it.
