alcohol has alot more calories... |

Oh! The Humanity!

My experience and observations are that alcohol is worse.
Pot seems to make people act silly whereas liquor tends to make people act stupid. There's a subtle but important difference there.
Now that I think of it, I've NEVER witnessed a person using pot fly into a violent rage as I have seen some drinkers do. |

they are both bad for your body. liquor will destroy your liver. pot destroys your brain cells. i know as i have seen it many times with people. im in nursing. |

Without out a doubt, alcohol is far worse than pot. While both have negative effects, I've never heard of anyone doing something violent while smoking pot. Alcohol has contributed to some truly evil behavior. |

It's all a matter of moderation. Usually 1 or 2 glasses of wine or beer in the course of an evening will not make most people drunk and distort their sense of reality. Pot on the other hand will make many people really high after just a few puffs. |

I agree. It's not like anybody ever died from smoking weed. I think the government makes money on cigerets and it's wrong to think that they kill you but weed don't. The government only cares about them making money. Alcohol is alright once in a while but the government needs to start putting there foot down. I still remember when Malik Sealy, (Pro basketball player) and Derrick Thomas (Pro football player) where killed by drunk drivers. I even here the one who killed Sealy was done serving his sentice and shortly after he got out, he was polled over for a DWI. Alcohol abuse is a problem that all americans should be conserened about. Hey I know that the guys who killed these althetes didn't get life, but what if they killed cops because of there choice to drink in drive? They would get life. I never heard of a time when someone killing someone because of driving while on weed. |

When I drink liquor, I enjoy fighting and treating women like ****. When I'm stoned I enjoy playing video games and eatign greasy foods. Pretty obvious which one is better as a whole for society :) |

Liquor. Too many people die from the effects of alcohol (i.e. - drunk driving, poisoning, liver problems, causing aggressive behavior). And as far as marijuana being a "gateway" drug, you can say that about any drug, even over-the-counter drugs. If you do too much of anything, it will hurt you or breed dependence on that drug. As a previous marijuana smoker and drinker, alcohol had the worst effect on me, which is why I stopped drinking first. Marijuana only mellows you out. You don't hear of too many crimes or death where "marijuana-related" was in the news headline. |

When (and if) they finally do legalize pot, it will generate BILLIONS in tax revenue, wages, etc. Once we finally get rid of the "Bible-thumping" far-right, then maybe we could vote on the issue. I really don't understand why "Christians" are so against pot- unless it has something to do with the fact that pot comes from "Mother Earth" and not from "God"?!?! |

I only use alcohol, because marijuana is illegal, and I don't like the idea of smoking. Still, I view alcohol as worse. For one thing, you can use marijuana in ways other than smoking. Alcohol seems to be worse in terms of brain/body damage and ability to cause behavioral and emotional problems.
Spirit Walker: that's total uneducated bull. Animals do not have cell walls. THC builds up in fat, but this does not lead to an increase in the volume of the fat. |

Liquor is way worse. I see drunk driving accidents all the time on the street that runs past mine. I see the same faces everyday in the bar at the restaurant where I work part time. I've seen several fights erupt because or alcohol. Rapes, vomiting, pregnancies, alcohol poisoning, bad karaoke- all a result of too much alcohol.
Drooling, munchies, passing out, driving too slow, dry mouth- all a result of too much weed. Pass the bong please. |

definitely ALCOHOL |

I must agree with you on that. |

Even better, pot is classified as a drug while alcohol is classified as a poison, that's why they call it Drugs AND Alcohol. But, it isn't about them making a profit off pot, its about wanting you to use the high tech expensive drugs that Merck, Smith-Kline, ect. market to you at prices no plant could ever achieve. |

In my opinion all is good in moderation nothing people like to take is of no bodys buisness how dare we impose restrictions on anybodys intake. Religion is at fault and that is the curse of this world.
Take care! |

Anything in moderation is fine but drink to much is just as bad as smoking to much. Excess of anything is not good. |

Yes, you nailed it. I have always said that if an emergency arose, I would rather see a person react after smoking pot than after drinking. If you are drunk, you are drunk , that's it. If you are high, people would be able to gather their senses and react . |

I believe both are bad. Neither are good for your body nor mind. As for your question, I somewhat agree with you. Liquor probably is worse. |

liquor is worse just look up cannibis on www.wikipedia.com its a scientific fact! |

Most definitely alcohol, far more deaths and acts of violence can be contributed to alcohol, when marijuana really isn't much more dangerous than cigarettes. There are many reasons why pot is illegal: racism, big business (thanks a lot DuPont), ignorant & corrupt legislators, and greed, unfortunately health isn't on that list. There were no medical studies that proved marijuana was dangerous, it was all about money.
As far as it being a gateway drug, that is just ridiculous. If there were such a thing, wouldn't caffeine, cigarettes, and alcohol be the gateway drugs since they are more commonly abused "starter" drugs? |

never thought of it that way, but greatly said. |

Both are not good for you. As for worse, I guess the pot and I disagree with you on the answer no one has died from it. They die in one of the same ways people do from alcohol, driving while impaired. I will not get into a fight with you about it, I just suggest you don't use either. |
|

?
 |
Alcohol is so much worse the marijuana. I agree with everything you said. |
|

Blunt Honesty
 |
I agree with you. Alcohol kills so many more people. And the government is swayed by lobbyists who don't want their now legal product turned in to the villian. The real gateway drug is cigarettes or alcohol, but because they are legal and have lobbyists, the government portrays the 3rd step in the process as the gateway drug, because they don't classify the others as illegal drugs. |

your totally right. Pot was originally made illegal because it was an easy way for our government to control blacks and mexicans. Our government just hasent figured out all the benefits of the marijuana plant yet. Hemp oil can replase all our oil needs.....so why are we still fighting for oil overseas? Someday it wil be legal....someday..... |

I would have to disagree that zero represents the number of people who have died as a result of someone smoking too much pot.
Pot is a gateway drug, and very very often leads to use and abuse of other drugs.
If the government wished to legalize and control pot, it would find a way to do so - believe me. |
