Marijuana apparently has the effect of making people come here and think they have to just ask and magically it will be legal.

It happens 10 times a day or more, on this forum alone.

Since nothing else ever results from it, I'd say that is a pretty unexpected and drastic affect. the mind must be severely impacted in a uniform way not described in prior literature I am aware of.

There have been studies showing that marijuana actually protects the lungs from lung cancer. Also, studies have shown it protects against Alzheimer's disease, in addition to alleviating pain and nausea. I am aware it depends on who you ask. It is just a matter of being brainwashed into the whole "reefer madness" craze. Pot doesn't make people stupid. People are lazy and stupid before they smoke pot. I can name doctors, lawyers, engineers who smoke the marijuana.

However, marijuana is so easily grown at home that the government cannot control it or tax it.

That's why it will not be de-criminalized anytime soon.

Both are bad but alcohol is worse on your system. IMO, marijuana will never be legal because the government has been to anti-pot for so long. As an example, if it were legalized, then you could easily say cocaine should be legal...both are natural grown products.

It would make sense for legalization, the government could tax and place restrictions as they do with alcohol.

Just my opinion.

Alcohol is definitly worse for you! I think you'd be much better off with a wee bit of marijuana! You don't have to leave your house, most people that do it stay in and smoke it with their friends, but with alcohol you have people going out and just abusing it and ending up too legless and thats when fights break out..but if any of you watch jeremy Kyle you will see and from maybe some "past experiences" you will see, it effects your brain and can, make people very paranoid! But some people enjoy it and I believe it should be made legal, why not? It is also a pain killer!! On the other hand, alcohol can effect people very badly and in a lot of cases lead to Liver damage,a lot of people's relationships are ruined through alcohol. Alcohol will never become illegal again though, although I think it should be!!

that wacky tobacco and alcohol should both be legal , you now how much money the government can make off of that good green stuff . they can tax it like they do the normal tobacco.

Alcohol is definitely more dangerous, but the brewing companies would never allow Prohibition II. Marijuana doesn't have that potential as alcohol to be deadly. I think society attaches a stigma to its use and distribution.

Since marijuana is illegal and not as widespread, one cannot compare the two. But a joint is non filtered and all that smoke is going into your lungs, so that can't be good for you. Then there's the weight gain from the munchies, and the burn hole you have to fix in your clothes. Not enough statistical data to give a solid and good answer.

Just like everything else, marijuana is still considered "New". The fact that its been around for a long time doesn't change that. I believe the Government are more concerned with the fact that most marajuana is laced with other drugs...LSD, meth, coke etc.
However, there was a time when alcohol was illegal as well. Change doesn't happen over night, these things take time.

I'm with you on the alcohol/ marijuana issue. No one gets baked and beats the crap out of their wives.

im no doctor nor do i smoke or drink but...i heard drinking messes up your liver and smoking kills brain cells...both are made from things on earth so i dont think they should be illiga...well it depends on how much intake of it you have...i dont know really...sorry
