It doesn't matter what you type into the search engine, all you get is titles such as "12 year old girl being *****d, or "real life gang murders caught on tape"
It is so sick, I can not believe it is allowed onto the site!! It should surely be illegal just to post such material, as well as to view it.
Limewire are just turning a blind eye and allowing it, which is discusting.
If they tried that on youtube, it would be taken off asap, and the member banned from youtube.
Long live youtube!

Limewire is a load of rubbish all software is full of viruses and films and pics are not what they say they are.

Well, maybe you have seen things like that on your Lime Wire, but I think Lime Wire should be banned for a different reason. My iPod got a virus, along with my computer because of Lime Wire. I was so mad, that iPod was brand new!!! We took it to Best Buy, the place where we got it, because we had a warranty on my iPod, and they wouldn't do anything, they said it was 'tampered with'. We didn't do anything to it! Well, anyway, I never will use Lime Wire again, and yes, I did get a new iPod, but now I only use iTunes and Cd's to download music from. |

its sad yes, but limewire can not control what appears on its program unlike youtube, the files you see on limewire are simply the files on other peoples computers and ofcourse how can limewire control what you keep on your pc?
still i think you will find limewire is slowly dying off now people use bittorrent as bittorrent is relatively safe where as limewire is flooded with fakes and viruses (straight from the film and music companies) |

No way dude, there is nothing wrong with limewire if used correctly, just because you don't like doesn't mean it has to be closed down. If you don't like it stay off it, don't spoil it for others.
Would you like it if we said ban youtube just because you like it? |

And how do you propose we "close down" Limewire? Are you familiar at all with the technology behind Limewire (or the Internet in general?) Even if the government somehow forced the authors of the Limewire software to stop producing it or providing it to the public, it wouldn't do anything whatsoever. Limewire is just one type of software that uses the Gnutella network, which is decentralized so it cannot be shut down. There are MANY other good P2P programs that work on Gnutella and people would simply flock to those. It would be like trying to shut down the Internet itself - nobody owns or regulates it, and there is no central server to shut down. Limewire works by allowing people to share files directly from their computers with anybody else who connects to them, and the software simply has no way of telling the difference between a legal file and an illegal one. Only individual users of such P2P programs can be held legally accountable if they abuse it, and you can't punish a software author because of how some other people choose to use his product. And basically, such P2P software should only be used by computer-savvy people, or at least people who have enough brains to run a virus scanner on any downloads before running them (which is what you should do with ANY software you download from ANYWHERE on the Internet anyway). And how much software, MP3s and eBooks can you find on YouTube anyway? None. Limewire rules! |

I use Limewire and I haven't come across anything like that! I always type in the full title of what i am looking for, don't know if that makes a difference. |

i know that this a problem with a lot of download sites especilly free ones but its not jusr limewire i do use the site but just for music and been lucky enough never to come across any of that kind of material on there |
