There is absolutly no logical reason why marijuana should remain criminalized.NO REASON
Marijuana is much safer than alcohol and tobacco
Marijuana is not a gateway drug, or not any more of a gateway drug than alcohol
Marijuana would bring in a HUGE revenue for the government 14 billion dollar estimate, at 50 dollars an OZ
Crime will decrease as we saw in the 1920s as we saw with ALCOHOL
I STILL cant believe our country has not fully accepted MEDICAL marijuana, How the government can intervene with sick people and their medicine they are prescribed. You never see Oxycontin being taken away from patients, why do we still see Medical Marijuana being taken away from patients?

Me. I don’t smoke, but I definitely think it should be legal, provided that it is regulated like alcohol (no minors, and no driving).
It makes absolutely no sense that pot is illegal while alcohol and tobacco (both of which are MORE harmful and MORE addictive) are legal.
Legalization would:
- Create thousands of jobs
- Deal a massive blow to criminal networks, which would suddenly be without a HUGE source of income
- Provide an enormous windfall for the government, which would bring in billions in taxes (ending Prohibition played a big part in getting the U.S. out of the Great Depression)
- Allow police, courts and prisons to focus their resources on DANGEROUS criminals, rather than potheads
Contact your representatives in government - if they hear from enough of us, they'll HAVE to start taking this issue seriously. As Gandhi once said, “first they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.” |

not as many people die from marijuana, but it causes brain damage, weight gain, major depression, impairment, addiction, anxiety, ruins relationships, etc. and one joint of marijuana is equal to 16 cigarettes.
however, if marijuana is legalized, at least the money will be going to the government instead of drug dealers. also, the stuff that is put into it will be more watched over. if you buy it from a drug dealer, you won't know what else could be in it. and that drug dealer doesn't care if he kills you, he just wants the money.
There was this guy who wanted to buy some marijuana from a drug dealer but instead of giving him the drug he pulled out a gun and shot him 5 times.
the consequences of doing that stuff just are NOT worth it.
*and just because cigarettes and alcohol are legal doesn't mean they aren't bad for you |
