When you ask the questions maybe you should mention that you are not in the US. If you do then it is because many of us Americans are quite stupid. |

Try to select your preferences to be more specific than English only. Americans make up more than 95% of this site. |
|

kermit

You may want to specify that in your questions, then. |
|

ROADRUNNER
 |
Specify what country you are from in the question so we know you want a fellow countryman:-) |

Then specifically say for example: British Citizens I need your help on a law question. I know it can be frustrating as different countries have different laws, but if you help specialize your question, you will have more relevant answers. |
|

gromit801

Then say so in your questions!
Who's to know? |

I think it would be a good idea to put the users flag of their country under the name of our avatar. There is room down there. By the way, I'm american too. |

I'm with the first guy. If you don't want americans to answer just type that in genius! its really not that complicated. So chill out and stop posting questions if you don't want americans to answer!!!! |

Because we have all the good answers. All of yours have a weird accent. |

lol. Sorry we just love answering questions. Maybe
you should state that you need help for your area and
we wouldn't answer (or at least not as much). :) |
|

not_ez_2bme

Americans do account for a large proportion of the Anglophone world, and an aweful lot of us are on-line.
What you can do to cut down on it is, if your question is relevant to your area, put the area in the question. Like "Whis is blah blah blah happening in Britain?" |

Try to pick a time when all the lads aren't at the pub.

Because most people don't type with an accent. If you question pertains to something local or regional, such as a point of law, or location of stores and such, that should be included in the question. |
|

Dead Fox
 |
Um. I don't know what to say. I'm sorry?
If you aren't, specify what country you want answers from.
Oh and in the future when complaining about irrelevance, remember to actually ask a question. |

Popocatepetl

Well you should see a list of countries to log into, just change to the country yo u want to get some answers from. |

Hi, I'm a Martian. What's your question. Take me to your leader. No wait, that's Tony Blair isn't it? Well never mind, I'll go visit the states, their leader is from outer space. |

Because when we go to our office, and sit down, we pretend to be working by answering questions here for 8 hours a day.
Or maybe it's just me. |

Some Americans don't live in the United States, so we aren't there either! |

It's because Americans don't realize that UK/AU/English Indian answers pop up on US Yahoo Answers if you have the "All English Questions" popup selected (vs. the "u.s. only" checkbox).
We're not very smart.
But if you don't want Americans answering
(a) Say "UK ONLY"
(b) Specifically tailor your question to a UK audience (i.e. mention UK-specific laws, or issues, or etc.) |
|

Set your yahoo answers up so you only get answers within your country...I can't tell you how to do it, but I am sure someone can... |

Do you state in your question that you do not live in the United States? That might help weed out less relevant answers. |
|

kapute2
 |
what's your question relevant to your home? |

In their attempt to unite the world in a Socialist Utopia the libs at Q&A have thrown us all together, that's why so many Indians post questions (that or they are paying us back for all the tech support calls they get). |
