I am against both. But there is a moral difference--so Ican see how a person could be consistent in being anti-abortion and pro-death penalty.
Abortion is killing of an innocnent baby. Capital punishment it the killing of person who through their immoral and illegal behavior has been deemed by society to have forfeited their right to life.
In order for a person to be consistent in being pro-abortion and anti-death penalty they have to take the positon that a fetus is not a human being. I do not think that is a morally valid argument--but it is one that a lot of people take. These same people might for various reasons feel it is wrong for society to take a life (that would be a post-birth life--and hence a human being) and therefor be against capital punishment. |

Death penalty is about killing a fully living being.
Abortion is about killing cells that isn't a true living human being.
Those people against the death penalty are also against the kind of abortion that kills full grown babies. Those babies are equal in life as the convict because they're fully living human beings.
Those who are for ALL forms of abortion whether it's a living baby or not, but is for death penalty, are hypocrates. |

They don't look upon abortion,as killing,Abortion is the removal of cell,s from the body. |

Maybe because there is still a debate about when human life begins, and many believe that it doesn't begin until you're born, so they think killing a foetus isn't quite the same as killing a grown person who is quite undoubtedly alive and shows consciousness? |

Abortion happens because people don't think about contraceptives.
And death penalty is for people who have murdered someone..
Yes, You can argue you are murdering either way..
But abortions saves children from being born into this world to parents that won't truly love the child.
Death penalty is taking a bad person out.. That deserves it. |

I am the opposite. I am against abortion and for the death penalty. I could never harm a child, even unborn, but I have no problem executing someone that tortures and murders another human. Especially a child! They no longer have a right to life in my book |

Normally, with a question like this, I would feel inclined to go into a long, debate worthy diatribe. However, I will make it short and sweet. I will always support a woman's right to choose. I am against capital punishment because it is inherently racist, not a deterrent to crime, and because it is flawed. Too many people, who were later proven innocent by DNA were put to death. |

I don't know where you got your statistics, but it's actually the other way around. Most people have no problem killing a convicted murderer, but have reservations about an innocent child. |

I'm for abortion and against death penalty because:
abortion:
-globally there are ~78,000 women who died from abortion every year in countries where abortion is illegal. They would have to abort the fetus themselves therefore, not only one death, but both death of the fetus and mother. Rather save one life then none.
death penatly:
-Death doesn't solve anything.
-There had been so many cases where those on death road had been saved because case proven wrong.
Too many answers to your question. |

Good question, never thought about it but I'm one of them. But I'd have to go into great detail to explain my reasons for each. |

I'm pro both.
Not to steal your thunder but if you believe in both how are you a hypocrite? I think you got a typo. If you believe in one but not the other would make more sense when calling someone a hypocrite. Both end life right? |

The same reason people are against abortion but support the death penalty. |

I guess because they're just hypocrites.
Innocent unborn babies deserve death, but murderous scumbag criminals deserve life? What the HELL kind of logic is that?! |

Well i see it this way.... It is easy for people to come to the conclusion that an embrio has no fealings.... and that it hasnt started started its life yet...... People consider it to not to9 be amoungst the living....and im sure most of them tell them selves that its alright to kill a been short of being human. The death penalty deals with humans....its human nature to emphathis |

I'm against the death penalty because humans make mistakes. Can anyone ever be 100% sure they are killing the right man? Besides. I don't think criminals deserving of the death penalty should get the easy way out, they should rot in misery for a good long time.
I am pro abortion. |

To me, the first thing becasue they are "selfish." Abolition with ease them of the problem, but death penalty is something they want to show they love life and humanity. |

They don't consider a fetus as a human being. It's wrong for them to feel that way. As for the death penalty I'm for it in child rape or murder cases and smoking gun convictions like John Wayne Gasey or Jefferey Dauhmer. The he said she said convictions should not be death penalty but life in prison without the possibility of parole. Too many death row inmates sentenced on "eye witness" testimony have turned out overturned due to DNA proof. They keep'em locked up too long anyway. One man was there 27 years! That's just ridiculous! |

SEEMS ABSURD DOESNT IT? PEOPLE SEEM TO BE ALL FOR SAVING THE WHALES AND PRESERVING THE WOODS ALL WHILE BABIES ARE MURDERED BY PLANNED PARENTHOOD! IM ALL FOR CAPITOL PUNISHMENT AND NOT AT ALL FOR ABORTION! |

I'm for both. Mistakes happen and why should someone live if they killed, tortured, molested... or many other things i could think of. |

I wouldn't know.
I'm the exact opposite.
I'm against abortion. But I supprt death penalty.
Why would you kill a baby (or a fetus) that hasn't done anything wrong? Why wouldn't you kill a person who has comitted a crime? |
