Why do people complain about cannabis when alcohol has worse effects on people and costs taxpayers more,.?

The problems you had with alcohol were due to your inability to control your intake,and I`m not preaching, as no-one enjoys a drink more the I do.With cannabis even a moderate amount can addle your brain and cause psychopathic tendencies.I have seen many young decent teenagers ruined by a quick spliff.

since a very large portion of the population, including polititians and law makers drink, and many smoke cigarettes, they want to find something to "blame" they don't want to be standing for everything, so cannabis is a target that helps them look like they have moral's........Even though far more people have died from Alcohol, and alcohol you totally lose your mind, but Cannabis you can at least think half away straight when you are stoned...........cannabis is the "scape goat" They want to blame something, and they want to place blame somewhere other then themselves, because Law Makers and Politians are the ones that made Alcohol Legal.......And are pointed to when people die...........

Plus have you ever heard in your life of a person running over another person with a car because they were STONED ?
Being stoned is people's escape for how the government has treated it's citizens, it takes the pain away and calm's the mind..........

Also a VERY important note is....................
If you are caught drinking and driving, it is a very stiff penalty, even if just a little alcohol is in your system.....it is still drinking and driving.............But if you smoked some marijuana and you are driving, they can't charge you with having severe impared judgement like they can if ALCOHOL is in your system........they just charge you with having the cannabis they KNOW alcohol is far worse then marijuana........................

As a side note, i did a research project on Marijuana last semester in College, and i found that no one has ever died of a OVERDOSE of Marijuana, for example if you smoke Marijuana constantly for the next 2 days, you will not die from it.......I welcome you to do your own research and you will come to the same conclusion.

Try drinking constantly for the next 2 day's and it is guarenteed that the person will die from alcohol poisoning..
And it is well documented that people who drink non-stop will die from alcohol poisoning....

Comparing the risks of Cannabis use to those of Alcohol :

FACT: Alcohol kills more people per year than all other drugs combined... Times one thousand.

NOBODY HAS EVER DIED DIRECTLY from cannabis use. Alcohol can cause death by alcohol poisoning, asphyxiation, cardiomyopathy, and cardiac infarct (heart attack). !!!!!!!!!!

Impairment produced by alcohol increases the risks of accidents, and engagement in dangerous behaviour (particularly drink driving). It remains to be seen whether cannabis produces similar increases.

There is strong evidence that high doses of alcohol taken during pregnancy can cause foetal alcohol syndrome. There is weak evidence that cannabis can cause similar adverse effects.

The abrupt cessation of alcohol use in very heavy drinkers causes a well-known withdrawal effect that can kill if untreated. It is unclear whether any degree of withdrawal syndrome occurs after cessation of heavy cannabis use.

There is strong evidence that heavy alcohol consumption can cause psychotic behaviour. There is suggestive evidence that cannabis may produce psychosis in people with a predisposition to mental illness.

There is good evidence that alcohol can (indirectly) cause brain injury. With long-term heavy drinking, severe irreversible cognitive impairment can occur. Long-term cannabis use does not produce damage of comparable severity.

So.........it should be de-criminalized, a person shouldn't be a CRIMINAL if they smoke it by themselves and it gives them peace
and calms them........My aunt is mentally ill, and she took drug after drug prescribed from her Psychiatrist .............Then she smoked Marijuana and FINALLY she had PEACE and she was calm .............. is that CRIMINAL that she had no choice but to give herself peace and tranquility ????????????

If a person really needs to be at peace with themselves and be calm.......... then they are definitely not criminal to take Marijuana

For example ...... My dad has been in CONSTANT pain for years , and the drugs from the doctor don't help that much, he has had several surgeries .......... He wants to do what Willie Nelson does to relieve pain and help him sleep with the pain and that is to smoke marijuana ................. But he is in pain and has troubles falling asleep because it is ILLEGAL to smoke Marijuana

Ask yourself this simple question, if you are in pain and other drug's aren't helping, ARE YOU CRIMINAL FOR SMOKING MARIJUANA ? According to Judges and Politicians, The only way it is not criminal is IF it is prescribed to you, which only a few states do............................. So if you have no choice but to smoke it, then according to laws, your criminal ...........................

The thing is Alcohol is next on the Nanny State's "Hit-List". Smoking is all but done for so next Alcohol will be hit.

It is now actually cheaper to have a few joints, have an Ecstasy tablet or 3 and have a few lines of coke than going out to the pubs, so you can gaurentee more and more people will be forced to turn to drugs as a way to unwind and enjoy themselves.

I can forsee Cannabis being legalised to make up the shortfall in tax that has been brought on by the banning of smoking and the impending banning of Alcohol, so expect the price of Cannabis to sky rocket when the Labour Govt starts to take tax from it. It will happen eventually.

Its because the government know they are unable to tax it, so its therefore dangerous and frowned upon by muppets. If we couldn't grow our own they'd have us paying 99% tax on it at the newsagents.

If smoking and alchohol are so dangerous then ban them, don't just slap a tax on them.

A bit like this global warming lie, how does charging 80% tax on petrol benefit the atmosphere, it doesn't, it just pays for the kitchens and bathrooms for MP's in their 2nd homes

If the government could gain from the selling and distribution of it.; believe me they would. People need to realize that the government fuels the pockets of many private sector businesses/attorneys etc. Think about it....A person gets arrested for cannabis what are they likely to do hire a lawyer...this helps create an income for the lawyers (look at our government 90% of law makers are attorneys) the person may or may not go to jail but if they do then the prisons make money (a lot of prisons are run by the private sector) They get paid by use taxpayers. Because they have brainwashed us to beleive that they are protecting us and we buy into it. Its just a cycle that is fueld by the mighty dollar. There are far worse drugs that you can get with a prescription. For example Xanax..not going to knock it...it has its place but my sister in law who is a nurse told me shes seen little old ladies have withdrawl symptoms from it because they have taken it so much. Alcohol destroys your liver but the gov. doesn't care because they make money from it. Which of course helps the medical profession because without sick patients the hosp. don't make money.

It has nothing to do with your rights as an adult or citizen. Its about money.

And to the tiiiiimmmy guy or whatever. You're absolutely wrong about being charged with only possesion and not under the influence of Marijuana. The cops will look for raised goose bumps, among other things, which are an indication of smoking weed. And if they think you're toasted they WILL take you to jail and charge you. Then when you go to court it's your word against the officers. Who do you think will win that one?

Cannibis stinks and its effects can impair all who are close by (they breathe it in). Alcohol effects only the imbiber (unless they hop into a car and start driving).
