Why do people make the canadian single-payer health care system sound like such a horrible thing?

it sure seems to work better than ours... and cheaper too.

I am a Canadian so i think i know a bit more then the Americans who answered.

The doctors are not bad they are top knotch, and we do not have to wait for anything, also there are tons of doctors i can have my pick from the city i live in. My family doctor at the moment is wonderful!

I have never heard of any Canadian going to the US for treatment unless it was for something rare in which the only doctor who understood the condition was American, and in those cases people have also gone to England, Sweden, etc . . .you have to go to the doctor. The other case in which people leave Canada is for PLASTIC surgeries they are not covered under our health care because well, no one needs plastic surgery and doctors do plastic surgery more cheaply in the US.


as for people making it out to be horrible it is because a lot of Americans are scared of liberal or "socialist" system of government and don't like the idea of paying "high" taxes for "lazy" out of work people to get medical coverage. in fact it's a wonderful system, one Canadians love!

The doctors they can pick from are not the good. They don't have many choices either.

So thats why Canadians come to America to get treatments. Now if you want some knock off drugs Canada is the place to go.
