You dont need a license to keep a dog, even in the olden days when you did it said nothing about your suitability as a dog owner, all it told us was that you had paid the required fee.
I do appreciate your point and would add that people wishing to adopt have to prove thier suitability as parents before they are entrusted with children, but if you have the biological capacity to produce children you can just go ahead and have as many as you like! |

The cost of a dog licence was used to fund the council employees who used to have to clean up all the dog poo from our streets.
Most children don't tend to crap in the street, but as a radical thinker I do advocate IQ tests at 11 and compulsory sterilisation of the thick before they can breed. |

Children have birth certificates and SS#'s to track them....a dog has a "license". It doesn't mean a person has proven the responsibility to own one like a "license" to drive a car or be a Dr. |

we dont need a licence to have a dog |

A dog is something to be kept, it's off spring can be sold and it can be taught to do tricks. It's also used as a companion. Children are something to be loved and supported. Something that you share with your family and take great joy in watching it grow. Now if you had to buy an annual licence for a husband well.........that would be another story. |

There should be a licence for both. Then perhaps parents will keep them under control as dog owners should their pets. |

hmm probably because it isn't a natural tendency to have a dog, it is a natural tendency for all organisms to procreate. |

You do not need a licence for a dog it was abolished years ago. Most people don't realise they shouldn't have children until after they have got them. |

Great question! Wish I knew the answer. Someone I know has a plaque in his home that says, "Any man can be a father but it takes someone special to be a daddy." Ain't it the truth?

love this question, I believe everyone should have their tubes tied at birth males and females and once you pass a test you get a reversal procedure |

You do not need a licence to keep a dog however there on about bringing it back. Its just another way to tax the good dog owners. They should bring a licence out for people having kids. |

so true, so true. We get on TV and talk about getting our pets fixed so we should also do public ads for people to get fixed also. Some people should not have pets or kids. |

More like anyone who wants to drive needs a drivers' license but anyone can give birth, walk out of the hospital with a little person and not be asked anything...
The right to have children is somewhere in the international human rights declaration. I personally thin we should modify that... |
