Why does everybody watch movies illegaly on the internet?

I don't. I don't like to watch movies. It seems like I always have something to do 1/2 way through.

When movie theatres stop charging 8 dollars for a tub of stale popcorn, then they might have legitimate gripe

i did it a year after the movie out, thank goodness i saw the movie for free cuz the movie was not interesting. I dunno why i did. Im not a criminal it was just a one time thing. Good, dont ever do it cuz it makes ya feel like ur ripping the actors, directors, etc off.

People do not seem to care that it is illegal. It seems to make it more challenging to some of them. I agree it is wrong and hurts the entire movie industry. So what if they make alot of money. If you do it for that reason it makes you sound jealous. Or even if you say they can afford it , that is the same thing. However it is still wrong and should not be done. But that is like alot of things and those that do not care will continue to rob from others.

I don't care about the producers. They get their money regardless - in millions of dollars. And I don't care that this is illegal. Millions of people are doing and when was the last time you heard about someone getting caught watching a movie illegally?
The economy is tough, so I am not spending $4.29 for a single DVD rental or to watch a movie on-demand.
You, know anything that's illegal and so widespread is basically a forbidden fruit, makes it even more attractive for people to do it; consider underage drinking.

However, the quality of the movies online isn't that good.

Take a look at SUPPLY & DEMAND curve. Items at $0, have a super huge demand...
Netflix is a good bang for a buck...

Simple answer is because they can. Also, a "crime" is much more palatable when there is an "invisible victim" ...Who am I hurting by watching this movie?

Right or wrong...that is an individual's choice. Legal or illegal is defined by law. There's a whole spectrum of grey in there where people make argument about why they do / don't follow a "law". I'm not a black & white kind of person & I think things should be considered on a case by case basis...but that's just me.

The answer; it's easy and cheap. Why should they drive all the way to their closest theater and then spend 8 bucks on the ticket?

I'm pretty sure that there aren't even any consequences if they're caught, because they aren't posting the movies up.

I don't watch movies online, because watching it (in the lowest quality probably) on a dinky computer screen alone vs watching it in a huge theater with your friends; there isn't much of a contest.

Simple. It's easy, convenient, and most importantly, free.

Most people don't care who "they're hurting" they care that they can watch a movie when they want, in the comfort of their own home and without a price to pay.
