Better still if the Psychopath has previous violent tendencies and has been let out of an institution with no support, why arn't the mental institutions charged with aiding and abbeting a known psychopath

It cost far more to execute someone than it does do have them spend life in prison.

The death penalty is much more expensive than life without parole because the Constitution requires a long and complex judicial process for capital cases. This process is needed in order to ensure that Innocent men and woman are not executed for crimes they did not commit, and even with these protections the risk of executing an innocent person can not be completely eliminated.

California taxpayers pay at least $117 million each year post-trial seeking execution of the people currently on death row;
Executing all of the people currently on death row, or waiting for them to die there of other causes, will cost California an estimated $4 BILLION MORE than if they had been sentenced to die in prison of disease, injury, or old age;

Since you are concerned about the cost, I guess you are opposed to the death penalty now, eh?

We only kill people who know they're being killed! Most psychopaths wouldn't really have too much of a problem with being put to death mainly because they're brains don't function in the same common-sense way that yours does!! Besides what would we have to talk about if they weren't killing poor people who write bad checks and leaving the charles manson's of the world alive to tell their stories & write music?????

If you put the wrong man in prison, you can let him go. If you execute the wrong man, you can do nothing but beg your Maker for forgiveness at killing an innocent man.

Even if justice is almost always right, is even one mistake acceptable? Even if we do not execute, we can keep a psychopath killer in prison until he dies.

Psychopaths don't know right from wrong and can possibly be helped. It is probably considered a mental illness that prevents them from being executed, since they didn't fully understand their actions. People should learn the legal terms. What you would want to refer to is a SOCIOPATH. They know right from wrong and just don't care. Anyway even when they are sentenced to be executed they have so many appeals that it is almost impossible to see them executed. Most end up being killed in prison or die of old age it seems.

I know what you mean, but the thing is they are very mentally ill and it's not necessarily their fault, so it's a bit harsh to kill them.

Although it could be argued that if we erradicated the dangerous rogues then this world would be a much safer and more peaceful place

Yes and don't grant them the notoriety that they may seek, if ever, until after they are gone! Ever noticed the satisfaction that some of them derive from their deeds and how they compare notes with other sociopaths? To what extent is the media culpable?

to many people that dont believe in the death sentence have u ever seen when they are going to excuite a person and there is alot of people outside protesting about it they would rather have a person serve a life sentence and use our tax dollars to feed and house that prisioner then just exciute them i think that is stupid

psychopaths are individuals who know what is right and wrong in the society in which they live. sometimes highly intellectual like henry kissenger. most times not. like stalin and pol pot. they are not sociopaths refusing to be dictated to by society and rebelling on their terms. psychopaths have no terms and rarely have a score to settle as depicted by the media. they are not vindictive and have no score to settle. they are just who the are. evil.
