Why dont ALL criminals get the death penalty?

Because the citizens of the nation, who have to live under these laws, do not wish the government to have such overwhelming power over themselves.

A lot of innocent people get accused of crimes, and even convicted. This has become very apparent in recent years. Quite a few past convictions have been disproven since the development of DNA analysis techniques. More would be found, if the evidence originally gathered had not been destroyed in the meantime.

Maybe you'd like to live under a government that could wrongly accuse and convict you of any crime, at any time, and would then automatically execute you for it.

I'd have a hard time considering you a human being if you really wanted that. Most people wouldn't stand for it.

Of course, if you really pine for that sort of "Utopia," I'm sure you can find some despotic wasteland elsewhere in the world that would be happy to add you to it's list of resident, uh, "citizens." Don't let the door hit you on the way out...

So if you exceed the speed limit by, say, 2 mhp, the cop would be justified in just putting a bullet in your head after pulling you over? I mean, that is breaking the law, making you a criminal.

I don't agree. When you look at the way the death penalty system actually works, you realize that the only purpose it serves is retribution or revenge.

I've got news for you. Statistically speaking, you have likely committed several crimes over the course of the past year alone. Took a pen from work? Dropped a candy wrapper on the ground? Drove even 1 mile over the speed limit? Failed to yield to the pedestrian waiting to cross the street? Made a loud noise or yelled between the hours of 10 p.m. and 8 a.m.? Failed to report every cash gift and gift card you received this years on your taxes? Stepped a few feet onto someone else's yard while walking your dog or walking to the store? Crossed the street within 100 yards of a crosswalk rather than walking over to the crosswalk? Rode your bicycle in a crosswalk or on the sidewalk? Rode your bike against the flow of traffic? Failed to pay for a license for your bicycle? Honked your horn just to get someone's attention? Failed to come to a complete stop at a stop sign?

The average person commits several infractions every week without even realizing it. Under your plan we would have to nuke the entire planet from space and then take cyanide tablets to complete the job.

I don't think you are going to get much support for your plan.

Well, it depends on what you term as "criminals". There are the hard core criminals - like rapist, murderers, etc or there are "mild" criminals who in a moment of folly did something "stupid". If they are hard core, they do deserve the death penalty, but if they do not belong to that category, then they are entitled to a second chance. Most people deserve a second chance in life, including you and me.

It's frustrating to see all the retarded judges and limp liberals and other assorted nutbags who cry for cold blooded murderers and yet not a tear for any victims. That's because in their twisted mind any human being, no matter how foul, is better than any tortured and murdered person. It's just a corpse to them, bury it and forget it.

If we don't lock criminals up for good or execute them, then we should assign each one to go live with a liberal family or a nutbag judge.

Actually, yes! If you're speeding at a dangerous speed, then you should be put to death for risking the lives of others and not even caring about what kind of damage you can cause. Natural selection has become very limited due to medical intervention, but the death penalty for endangering the lives of others or committing atrocities is a great way to replace natural selection!

besides if the pnalty for stealing a pack of gum was death i think any one who has half a brain to see that stealing a pack of gum isnt worth your life then you wouldnt steal gum

The punishment should fit the crime, and the blacks should get the same sentence as a white criminal would.
