Laws against gambling are derived from the Bible. A lot of laws are derived either directly or indirectly from religious teachings. In most cases, gambling is stupid, but it's not immoral. |

First, all gambling is not illegal. Where it is banned, it is mostly because the people running the game almost always have so much better odds that the people playing. The people playing have little chance of actually winning consistently, so some governmental units protect fools from themselves and other don't.
I don't think of it so much as immoral as a test for people who don't understand math. |
