I suspect it's happening because in some of your posts you've defended Israel and shown you know the history of the region. I get violations every time I post anything that is fair towards Israel.
For what it's worth, I enjoy your posts :) |

People often use that violation thing to get back at someone who said something they don't like. It's a glaring flaw in Yahoo's community policing idea. One thing you can do is make your questions and answers private so that it's harder for your stalker to track them down.
Edit: Eh, you can contact Yahoo about it but chances are they won't respond - been there, done that. |

you said something someone didnt like.. they disagreed with you.. now they are using the weakness of yahoo's system to screw you. |

Unfortunately contacting Yahoo about it won't help.....no matter how well you argue your case or present evidence to prove that argument Yahoo simply send you standard, cut and paste e-mails telling you they've looked into your appeal and rejected it.
I've never yet seen any proof that Yahoo has actually read an e-mail I've sent them and responded to the comments I've made in it.
People here tend to report when they have the hump over something, it's like a little power trip I guess.
I find I usually get notices when I've answered a stupid question, the kind of people who ask stupid questions are also the type that tend to take offense when that stupidity is exposed by your answer.
I've also had violations for answering that a question wasn't a real question, now that in itself is against Yahoo rules but Yahoo always tell me it wasn't a real answer but say nothing about the not real question.
Go figure!.
Political answers always cause problems because most people asking them have an opinion to start with and are not really looking to be told something they don't know about.
So if your answer contradicts what they already think then bang!......you get reported.
Not really much you can do about it apart from try and answer safely.....the problem is even then there is always someone out there looking to get you. |

stumpedI... is correct.
There are trolls that will follow you around and thrash you with violation reports just to get you kicked off.
You have to challenge every single violation. If you don't it's like pleading "guilty".
I got kicked off once. Luckily I was using someone elses email address for my sign-in identity. Now I use my own and am very careful.
Once you're kicked off, they delete EVERYTHING, and you absolutely cannot ever be restored
But if you are kicked off, get another Yahoo email address and get back on. There's a chance your name hasn't been taken and you can always use the same avatar.
This is why you shouldn't allow "contacts". That's the device they use to follow you around.

That's a Stupid Question
|
On the surface I wouldn't worry much about it. I get reported all the time and have had one account banned. It's not the end of the world.
Do check your questions / answers that have been reported to see if there were any technical violations of the Community Guidelines. There are many self-appointed members of the YAPD (Yahoo Answers Police Department) who thrive on reporting any violation, no matter how trivial. Sometimes they report you just because they disagree with your point of view (I get that a lot, especially in ..... well, let's just say I get that a lot and leave it at that, lol!)
If you honestly don't think you've broken the rules, you can petition to have your deleted content reinstated.

You should contact Yahoo and see if they were actual violations. Also, since your a top contributor they might be checking extra to see if they were violations.
They probably won't take away your email since it is not directly related to Yahoo answers. If they do, I'll bet they'll make an exception so you can get it back somehow. |

I picked up a stalker troll just today, after I got rid of yesterday's. I feel for you!
I think they report on us because they are actually jealous of our incredible grasp of the obvious, not to mention our amazing literacy, as well. |

You are the victim of a "report troll". You need to make your questions and answers private.
First, click on "My Profile"
Second, click on "Edit my info"
Third Check: "On my public profile, hide my Q&A from people not in my Answers Network " and "On my public profile, hide my Answers Network from people who are not in it " |

I stopped asking questions cause they seem to get reported, like, " Why are there so many bad spellers on Yahoo!?"
You can never tell what's going to tick someone off and they feel self-righteous, censoring us for nothing.
I think these are the same people that are always on-line, nothing else to do & bitter. |

Certain groups of people get upset if you disagree with them and they troll around for people to report.
You cannot stand up for Israel. You can hardly stand up for the US.
The notices I get are when I am in the Israel travel section defending Israel. I mean, really, if a person is going to go to the Israel travel section and then report everyone who supports Israel, it is a pretty pathetic life that person has.
I answered a questions once with a simple "YES" and gor reported and had my answer deleted. The question was something like do you support what Israel is doing to the Palestinians. I said "yes". The reason I was told I was in violation was that it was "not a question or an answer". The last time I looked "Yes" was an answer. I suppose I should have kept to my really wordy long winded answers but I didn't think it called for it.
People like to report top contributors and they like to bust out people who don't agree with them. YA staff also seems to be very biased about some things. No doubt they think they are "progessive thinkers".
I have had to block people. I one time had a girl tell America to go get screwed and that we don't contribute to the world so I listed American contributions. She didn't like it and blocked me. Odd thing was that the answer was voted by users as best answer which I thought was funny.
You have a troll on your tail I think. Maybe more than one.
Oh and talking to Yahoo about it is useless. They never answer and obviously do not care.
The thumbs down someone is giving all of the answers to your question makes me think the troll is near LOL |

Always respond to Yahoo when this happens. It will take them awhile but they will respond back. |

so do i.
I mentioned Bush space monkeys artistically like in Fight Club, and someone reported me.
I also asked:
Public opinion wants another war against Venezuela. People dont even know how to spell Colombia and wants.....their blood... why that happens?
I really dont care about the report. I care about who pressed the button there inside yahoo. |

You are smart and nice.....people get jealous, silly people. I have heard that you can get some of those violations removed/reversed.....talk or communicate with YA....
keep keeping it real!!!! |

It's a sign of the times. You are not alone. There is evil and darkness out there; that is a reality. Get with it, and start blocking, or do what you must, without regret. Besides, many people that hold positions of certain power in many companies, organizations, corporations, who have and relish their sanctioning powers, aren't really qualified to hold those positions to begin with. Anyhow, you really have the most powerful options at your fingertips; even more so than they. You can simply cut them off by not partaking or participating; by not acknowledging them, by means of your own withdrawal. They are really of little or no importance in your life. Also, on some not too distant a day, they will find themselves desperately and destitutely looking for a job, and they will think back in melancholy, and wonder why they cannot find, keep, or hold-on to one. |

I am currently hypothesising that they have installed a new management policy, whereby, like traffic cops, they need a certain minimum no. of violation notices, and removed answers, or they aren't fulfilling their job requirements. Hope your blocking measure works. |
