Not morally, why is he a skilled lawyer? What tactics does he use in presenting the Tom Robinson case? I know nothing about being a lawyer and I was curious.

because he sticks up for people regardless of gender or race. such as when the man says that the black man raped his daughter and there was no evidence, it was only because he was of different ethnicity and Atticus saw that and stood up for him even though he was black |

he has his facts straight. That's the big deal of it. Like, Tom Robinson couldn't have done anything to uhmm, whats her name? Sorry, I havent read the book in awhile. I think its Maybell? Idk. But Tom couldn't have hurt her that badly because one arm was deformed. And if memory serves correctly, it was the right one. And the scars Maybell (again, sorry if the name is wrong) are on the... i think left side of her? Or at least thats where she was hurt the most. And her father is left handed, which means he had to have been the one who hurt her like that. Again, I'm really sorry because I haven't read this book in ages. But the big thing about him being a good lawyer is that he has his facts straight. Also, the dad said he didn't call the doctor or anything, but the damages that had happened to her were pretty bad, which means that he didnt want anyone to know he had hurt her. And the whole story is centered around segregation, so Atticus is trying to show everyone Tom is innocent, even tho he's black. Of course, no one cares if he is or not and he's still accused of the crime, but Atticus is very very analyzing and really looks closely at details, which makes him a good lawyer. |
