Why is Charles Manson still in prison?
Find answers to your legal question.

Why is Charles Manson still in prison?

He actually didn't commit any crime. We have drug dealers getting in and out of jail on murder charges. So why is he still in prison?
Additional Details
Even though he was the voice behind the killings. You have gang bangers killing repeatedly and yet they go to jail for a few years then released and they do the same crime again.

i think its because he doesn't show remorse, i think if he started pretending like he was sorry a couple years b4 he goes up for parole that they will let him out

Shawn
He didn't commit a crime? Are you serious?

Waiting for the punch line....................

Greg
He is and he brain washed teens into killing people for him... he knew about all the murders and being an accomplice in setting up a murder is just as bad as the actual deed!

tabbi8407
He convinced his followers to kill people.... do you want him out of prison or something???

Is anyone else worried about joy??? Why would you think he doesn't deserve to be in prison?

Because every time he has a parole hearing they ask him he would do if he got out and he replies that he would gather up his old followers and start murdering people again.

jealous elf
he actually did commit a crime--he was convicted of seven murders. you don't have to pull the trigger to be guilty of homicide.

life with out parole

David S
You need to brush up on the case. He certainly did commit a crime. Quite a few of them.

He was the reason behind why several people died- who says the justice system is always just- O.J. is free too

Smoove B
Because he can still convince someone else to kill for him. That's dangerous.

pickleplummer
psycho maniac maybe

mellie
Because he was the master mind of the murders committed by his "children", and that makes him just as guilty as the person committing the act. He allegedly orchestrated the murder of Sharon Tate and everyone who was in that house, which would be the same as a person hiring a hit-man to kill their spouse.
He may not have done it, but he wanted it done and influenced others to carry it out. That makes him just as guilty as the ones who committed the brutality.

Also, he and his followers did receive the death penalty when they were first convicted in April 1971, and in 1972 the California Supreme Court abolished the death penalty in the state and all of the defendants are serving life sentences.

Are you serious? He was convicted of conspiracy to murder and murder of 9 people. I don't know where you live, but in California those are very serious crimes.

Why, do you wanna join his family or something??

Would you want Charlie living next to you? Did you ever see what the "Manson Family" did and then laughed in court about it?

I believe he is doing more than one life sentence. He will never be released.

He refuses to attend any of his parole hearings. He believes that if he is released, someone will kill him.
