Because your average idiot (or average person if you prefer) believes the government propaganda and doesn't realize it's no more harmful than tobacco and no more impairing than alcohol.
awesome_jane: If things were made illegal for those incredibly stupid reasons, alcohol, tobacco, and most major medications would be illegal as well as any potentially deadly activity such as driving, sports, etc. |

because there is no way to tax something that can be grown in any back yard. It is just like moonshine, no way to tax it so it is illegal. Also the drug company's can't make billions off their drugs if you can treat yourself at home, and not pay for their poison. Or so this is my personal opinion that some people my not agree with. |

It was extra-legal until 1936, it had no standing but an internationaltreaty said we had to ban something.
Now big Pharma wants to keep it off because they cant make a product as effective and law enforcement containment uses it as a big population draw collecting from the states to warehouse ppl and pay them $0.13/hr for labor which they then farm out to business for $17.00+/hr.
Nothing personal, it's just business, which their lawyers will prevent them from getting caught in. |
