Why is Michigan, New York, Illinois and California so broke being the Highest taxed States?

All of this Red, Blue argument is avoiding the question. Federal Taxes are not the issue. It is the fact that they spend more than they take in State taxes.

Here in Michigan Granholm has high taxes for business's. Many business's have moved out of state because of this. Here we go again, with a shortfall of ovedr 800 billion, she again wants to raise taxes............NOT PAIR BACK GOVERNMENT

they have done on a state level what the liberals are wanting us to do on a federal level. businesses are leaving these states in droves and going to where they can get tax breaks and freedom from unions dictating business procedures. from people who have little skill sets yet demand high paying jobs with companies paying for their benefits. those days are over and they must accept those facts.

the government cannot be all things to all people and survive. sometimes you have to take responsibility for your own choices that you make and live with the consequences.

if we continue spending without regard to the consequences, we will all pay a cost to dear to comprehend.

capitalism isn't perfect, that is true, however it is the best and has served us well for many years. you cannot eliminate greed from any form of government no matter how much regulation you impose.

Michigan, New York, Illinois and California and most of the blue states are surplus states. Meaning they deposit more money to Federal Treasury than they take out. Most of the red states are deficit states, which mean they take more money from the Federal Government than they put in.

It's True. You can look it up. Actually, Michigan, New York, Illinois and California should be complaining about the fact they are supporting the rest of the federal government, which props up the economies of the Red States.

Maybe you should read a book before opening up your mouth.

And did you know that the of the Top Ten states that RECEIVE more money than they give to Washington, 8 of them are... sit down for this:... RED STATES. .. and Southern.

So it's no wonder that 4 of the most populous, industrious and progressive states in the U.S. are actually net DONORS to lazy@ss RED states.
