Why is it legal to write stuff on the internet about others?

Like the ability to put up embarassing pictures, and post other peoples personal information as long as its truth.
Shouldnt that be illegal, considering how wrong it is?

It's not legal to knowingly and maliciously write lies about people on the Internet or in print. That's called libel, and if it causes monetary damages to another person and can be proven to have been done intentionally, then a civil suit is in order.

Printing truths, no matter how embarrassing they may be to someone, is perfectly legal.

i agree that it is morally wrong, especially degrading someone's image or damaging their reputation...i guess you can label that as cyber bullies...but then again, people who have no lives and spend way too much time worrying about other people;'s business are pathetic enough already, and paying attention to them would only support their stupid efforts.

rights are rights, sometimes the majority of us take advantage of that and use them for stupidities and damaging other's lives.
