I agree with you on this. Why should i pay for some scrounger to sit at home smoking and living the high life whilst i am at work.
I am a single parent and i work full time because i want my son to grow up knowing that his mum is not a bum and that he too will not believe that he should sit on his a*se and get paid for doing nowt. I want my son to see that if i can do it then he certainly can. But going back to the question, as a full time working single parent, i CANNOT afford to keep lazy scroungers on their backsides as i am struggling too!!!!
I believe that some people cannot help their situations ie disabled, pensioners AND single parents and that these people should not be penalised but for those who sit around claiming Jobseekers for longer than 3 months should have all benefits stop at the 3 month mark. Lets see just how quickly they find a job with that threat hanging over them. I bet it wouldnt take long. |

Why should I, or any other taxpayer, work for these scroungers and layabouts? That's effectively how it works, my money is taken by the Government and given to them. And it is wrong.
Completely agree with all you say. Maybe it's the people who are shouting loudest against this that have the most to lose? |

If I have to work to live I don't see why others should get it free. If they have enough money to not have to work and don't need benifits then good luck to them! |

This should be a dig at Bitter Pill... he has no idea what he is talking about and is probably one of the lazy who cant be bothered to work and intends to live off of others for the rest of his life. SCUM |

Work or starve, that is right. If they choose not to work, they shouldn't be able to do that with your checkbook or mine. |

Its about time people started to complain about work dodgers. If you haven't found a job in 3 months then your money should be stopped. The government are telling us to save for retirement because there wont be enough money there for us to retire on even though we pay our national insurance, they our spending our money on layabouts and telling us to fork out more I DON'T THINK SO. The unemployment benefits were not set up for long term abuse for smoking, drinking, running cars and going on holidays, it was but in place to stop poverty I.E: a roof over you head and food on the table that's all. Give less money and they will go out to work.
PS. as someone said "there is less unemployment under labour", its amazing what a bit of magic with the books can do with the figures. |

It's not vindictive. If a lazy person refuses to work when they are capable of work they are extracting benefits from the discomfort of others who can be bothered to work. They have inflicted a degree of pain on the working person and they should be punnished for that injury. It's justice! |

Yes i agree with you some people cant work but there are many that just dont want to work im fed up of paying my taxes to support these people. |

your right, i don't want to work but because i have a family i chose to work in order to get money to look after my kids!
I'm happy for people to decide that working is not for them but to expect the rest of US to pick up the bill is a little unfair!
if you a millionaire and decide not to work that's fine, Go enjoy your wealth but if your not don't be lazy and take the benefits while hard working people like me have to subsidise you! |

He obviously thinks its his unitmate right to get something for doing nothing at everybody elses expense. Perhaps if he was forced to personally contribute to my beer fund out of his benefits he would feel the same way. |

I agree with that point.....my only concern is that most tabloid newspapers, who lets face it, influence most public opinion, don't differentiate between benefit claimants....so everyone that claims benefits is lazy and should be punished, which is of course wrong.....its a bit like saying all Asians are terrorists, which the tabloids also seem to be saying. |

I agree with that quote, ACTIVE punishment would be wrong, it is a free choice, but less benefits... |

To punish me for not working would be much worse than just plain vindictive, it would be criminal. Why? Because I am a pensioner.
The rules which apply to my situation also apply to the unemployed, many of whom lost their livelihoods under the Margareth Thatcher government who made it their job to close down factories and mines and leave our country with over 3 million unemployed.
In the ten years since Labour came to power, 3 million news jobs have been created and there is far less unemployment than was previously the case.
What Cameron is proposing, is a method tried and failed in the USA. My thinking on this is that he is being lead by the nose by NeoCons in the US who believe their idea failed in the USA because they were not hard enough. Now they want to try it here in UK and are using Cameron and his discredited party of Tories to try it one more time on an unsuspecting UK public.
I am not fooled.
I am a wise old owl aged 66 and have seen all of this crap before.
What the British want is not want the NeoCons of America want and also not what the Tories of UK want either.
Like Royalty, the British public favour either a Labour government or else a very wet Tory one.
I am not stupid. Cameron's strings are being pulled by the Tory Grandees in the grey suits.
In their ranks are silently coming the old guard, including the one called Spok - John Redwood and also Jonnathen Aitken, criminal and liar.
This is the kind of government which we will get if we are lulled into thinking that a Tory government will do us some good.
Stop the self flaggilation - get real. The Tories all wear the Devil's horns in readiness for their final roll in stoking the fires of Hell.
VOTE LABOR - YOU KNOW IT MAKES SENSE |

Actually, everybody pays tax whether it's from their wages or their cigarettes so drop the whole "im the only one who pays my taxes they're taking my money" act.
And as for hard work, I assume you're all humanitarians in Darfur? Fighting for our country in Iraq? Or maybe something closer to home... scientists fighting cancer perhaps? |

it's not that i can't be bothered to work - it's just that i think i'm too good to work and the opportunity to stay at home and still get my rent paid and benefits on top is there for the taking.
i can now just smoke weed with the money and enjoy my time as i wish . woohoo |
