Lethal injection is not nearly painful or humiliating enough for some of the perverted low life creeps who deserve no mercy for their hideous crimes. For example... some guy A$s rapes a 4 year old boy and mutilates his defenseless , innocent body and leaves him to rot in the woods.... that creep should get equal treatment, not namby-pamby mercy and love and understanding...... |

It isn't. It is only cruel and inhumane because it is typically WAY TOO EASY of a way to die. I think they should bring back public hangings, and/or electric chair.
Putting someone to sleep is not inhumane in any way, except perhaps to the family of the victim.
Ade...with the burden of proof for the death penalty today, and DNA evidence, plus the almost unlimited number of appeals afforded, it is probably statistically impossible that anyone actually executed would be innocent.
Mantrid...It is only so costly because of the insane number of appeals afforded. Now that we have DNA evidence, we should cut the number of appeals. Also, for every study that shows that the death penalty is not a deterrent, there is one that shows that it is. The Heritage Foundation has a great study showing that it ABSOLUTELY does. If for no other reason, I can prove that it does. For every murderer you kill, AT LEAST ONE CAN NEVER MURDER AGAIN!

System...medical doctors and drug companies say it is painless. I believe them over the anti-death penalty radicals.
pfeniks...they use the same type of drugs to do surgeries, and use enough so that the entire body would be numb and asleep when they stop the resperatory system. They ABSOLUTELY KNOW THE EFFECTS! It is a crock of crap to say that they don't. Stop believing the propaganda.

I think that raping and murdering innocent people is brutal and inhumane, and if executing a convicted killer gives the family a glimmer of retribution and peace, then I'm all for it.
I think that people are against the death penalty until they are jolted out of their fantasy world and someone close to them is murdered. I used to be one of those people. |

It's not lethal injection itself that is necessarily bad, its the death penalty in general.
All the arguments are about whether "death" should even be sentenced to anybody, no matter what their crimes are.
If the death penalty is decided, lethal injection *is* the most humane thing, it is completely painless. Also, as other choices in the past have been beheading, hanging, and the infamous electric chair, there is no reason why lethal injection shouldn't be enforced along with the death penalty, |

People believe it is cruel because they ruled that the chemical they used for lethal injections was to cruel to be used on animals. So people are starting ethics debates over the death penalty.
Personally, I think the death penalty is a good and bad. It is good in the way that dangerous prison's are no longer a threat and its bad because, the government is deciding who should live or die. |

I dont believe in the death penalty or lethal injection because I dont feel the crime the person committed is worth getting to die over. Of course murder is the most common crime to receive the death penalty and the way i see it if you kill someone you clearly dont value human life so Im sure you wouldnt care if you die. Its like giving these people what they want. I think people should suffer for these crime. put them in a small room, feed them minimal and never let them see the wonderful light of day again. now they will feel sorry for what they did.
Its also going against why you put that person there in the first place. they took a human life that wasnt theirs to take. dont you go and do the same. |

Its reported to be a horrible and painful way to die. The problem is that a majority of the time the anesthesia wares off before death occurs. During this time there is intense pain in the lungs, skin and brain and also the feeling of suffocation. Also, the injection has a paralyzing agent. The feeling would be like be drowning and burning while you were paralyzed.
Its cruel.. because there are other means of punishment available. |
