I think others tend to frown upon suicide because they look at it as giving up on life.
Life gets hard for everyone, but you gotta stay tough and pull through.
For some people, it becomes too painful or too tough, and they just can't pull through, and for those people, I sympathize for them, and i respect them, and i do believe it should be their choice. I just think that suicide is so sad that no one should have to go through that.
But when people really do it, to them it is for a good reason, so I don't frown upon suicide, but I would never want anyone to have to go through that. |

In today's society, suicide is considered not favored by society's mores, and not just in the U.S., but most likely in other countries too. I believe suicide may even be made criminal in some states, but oftentimes not enforced. Typically, a person attempting suicide is subject to mental health evals rather than prosecution.
You raise a good question, but sometimes government feels it knows better whether someone should live or die.

I don't frown upon it. I think a lot of suffering in the world would be spared if the alcoholics and addicts who want to die would just carry out their plans. |
