Why should beer be illegal in the US?
Find answers to your legal question.

Why should beer be illegal in the US?

I'm doing a project in class. It's everyone versus me and I have to back up why beer should be illegal in the US. I have many points, but I want more to be safe. If anyone could, please brainstorm as many reasons as possible why beer SHOULD be illegal. If provided, state your sources if you can.

It shouldn't be.

You lose.

i believe this has been tred and it didnt work.
i.e. The Prohibition

Good Luck on your project. Here's some more reasons:
Burns up brain cells
Makes people more inclined to do illegal things since they aren't thinking clear

Domestic violence is higher among beer drinkers-(I really don't know if it is)

People who are mentally ill can become more manic and dangerous to themselves and others

The majority of people in lock up at the prison are there because of alcohol

People who are alcoholics become very angry, make poor decisions

People get too rowdy and make wrong decisions

People put themselves in unsafe situations--going to someones house to continue drinking and getting possibly raped

People who are allergic to alcohol take on a different personality- can be dangerous

Vomiting while passed out and inhaling the vomit= suffocation

Drinking to look cool

Drinking and going along with the crowd-could lead to bad decisions, what if someone produced a gun? Target shooting that goes wrong and someone accidentally gets killed

Playing chicken

Joe the hilarious Toronto Raver!
Remember prohibition? Yeah, when alcohol was banned, people started smuggling them and an underground alcohol trade begun. People who couldn't afford the all-of-a-sudden expensive as hell alcohol drank paint thinner.

We don't want that anymore. So.

Enjoy your beer.

drunk drivers, violence, the stupid things you do when drunk such as injur yourself or maybe get someone prego. research statistics on that stuff. but also think about what the other side is going to say. if beer is illegal it really isnt going to do much... all alchohol would have to be illegal and the US already tried to do that, prohibition, which didnt work at all

Oh gosh dude...you got screwed!! Just chalk it up to a loss ... the US government already tired that with prohibition and what a flop that was! Try researching what their reasons were then and make it relevant to today...or try and think like the Christian Collation, however scary that is!

P. S. Gateway to hard liquior?

I think you should dig deeper into this. Find out why marijuana is illegal first. Then, try to work the rest of your life to pass a law illegalizing fun. Fun can be dangerous. Irresponsible people have fun every day, and people driving to places in order to have fun, wind up dead in car crashes. Happy people have been known to not want to work or be productive. This could lead to a declining economy.

All of these come from abusing any alcohol:
Alcoholism
memory Loss (blackouts)
health problems (fatty liver, cirrhosis of the liver)
drunk driving
death
a person can become violent
loss of family and friends
Hope this list helps you.

Boy did you draw the short straw or what? Okay.....you need to dig up the number of deaths cause by drinking and driving. If you can find the % of beer that is consumed VS Alcohol that will help you with your numbers. Go to the the MADD website and it will also have some good information for you. You also need to do searches on Beer Bellies, and weight (which beer is responsible for). This will not be an easy argument to win. But with good searching you can make a damn good argument. Try google and ask.com to search. If you can convince them that beer is bad (which I really think you can via statistics) you will make a fabulous lawyer.

Two words....drunk drivers

I suppose the main problem with alcohol in general is the abuse. Too many drunk drivers, underage drinkers, and addicts.
But it still shouldn't be illegal for those of age.

WOW GOOD QUESTION...
THIS IS GONNA BE KINDA HARD...
THE OBVIOUS WOULD B DRUNK DRIVERS...
DEATH...
ALCOHOLICS RUIN THEIR FAMILY LIFE
UNDER AGE DRINKERS...
IM NOT SURE BUT I THINK ALCOHOLICS CAN BE IN GENETICS TOO...
SO IF THAT HAPPENS...
THE FUTURE MAY NOT BE SO BRIGHT WITH ALCOHOLICS THAT HAVE KIDS... =/
IM A DRINKER MYSELF... BUT I CAN CONTROL IT! =]
GOOD LUCK WITH UR PROJECT

ME!!!!!
I think it should be illegal because it has caused many car accidents.

there would be less car accidents.

less people would do stupid things.

there would be more good in the world.

there would be less people living on the streets.

there would be no drunk driving.

no parties with beer when teenagers get arrested.

bungee
it shouldn't be illegal

the ONLY good reason is lots of young girls won't get drunk and pregnant, resulting in abortion.
But liberals love abortions which murder 20 times more than beer every day.
So my answer is NO!!!!!!!!!!!!

ritchiek37
Beer's chief ingredient is ALCOHOL, a poison. That's why it is used as disenfectant, because it KILLS every form of life.

Uplutea
But all these reasons are grounded on ABUSE of alcohol. People can have a beer or two after work, with a pizza, or at a party WITHOUT getting drunk. You're assuming that BEER should be illegal because it always leads to abuse and overdrinking.
