In Snohomish Washington they are going to lay off a drug sniffing dog that is costing 16,000 a year in vet care, food, grooming, kennel and training, what is up with that 16,000 is the new blue collar wage so how do people get that job.

That is where 16 grand is going. I would imagine that most of that is spent on kennel (have to pay people to take care of the dog) and training (have to pay experienced people to train the dog). |

Part of it is probably the cost of training. You need to have a lot of skill to train a police dog. Not anyone can do it. |
