Will I get in trouble for taking my son out of the country?

I live in the states and I am going to London. My son is eight months old. The dad hasn't been in the picture since I found out I was pregnant. When I was about to give birth, I called him to come to the hospital but he never came to see him. For the first 3 months, I would call and call so he could meet his son. I think he was dodging my calls because he thinks I want money. But, I make more money than him and am perfectly capable of taking care of my son financially. I just want my son to know his father but he doesn't seem interested. Now I need to move and I don't know if I will get into trouble for taking him out of the country. I called him for the first time in five months but he hasn't returned my calls. Advice?????

Snicker, if you didn't have anything helpful to say you shouldn't have said anything at all. I got a job offer in London, ok? I don't need anybody's money because I make more than enough.

I would talk to a family lawyer. They will have all the procedures you should go through. However I am not sure if you actually do need anything, but the last thing you need is to move to a new country and lose your child because the guy decdied to be a "father".

There is no court order that says you cannot take your son out of the country. You are the sole caretaker, you have all legal rights. You can do what you wish. If you made those calls to your ex on your cell phone I would keep the records though, just in case he thinks he can make money off you.
