Will this be discrimination?

I just started a new job and an HR staff was passing out handouts. To my surprise she gave me the handout in Spanish because she thought it was better. I speak spanish but there are some words I don't understand. I mean I graduated from college in the US and I am currently I am pursuing a professional certificate. I had to ask her for a handout in English so I could understand better.
Do you think I am making a big deal? Should I mention this to the HR manager? The fact that she differentiated me from everyone hurts me a lot.

You could choose to see this in another light, eg she did it to make you feel more welcome. If you look for discrimination, your always going to find it, even when it's not intentional.

She may have given it to you coz you speak spanish. I think you are being too sensitive, she may just be dumb, or not thinking.

She was being polite; don't fault her for it.

It's rude to assume that someone can read in English if it's their second language. After all, you can learn to speak a language by immersing yourself in it, but you can only learn to read through education.

She will remember next time. Problem solved. :)

its not discrimination its just stereotypeing the fact that you speak spanish but the fact that she thinks you speak fluent spanish is stereotyping.i dont think you have to but if u feel better telling then go for it
